Spring 2025 Associate, Hospitality

Our Associate program is a paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization’s success while at the same time applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Associates are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.
Associate Expectations:
All Associates are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each Associate will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.
Important Dates:
Our Spring Program runs from Monday, January 13, 2025 through May 2025.
Office Hours:
- 9:00 am‐6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor. Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor’s schedules.
Our Associates must:
- Be available to work under 30 hours per week.
- Be available to report to the New York office approximately 3-days a week.
- Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad)
OR
- Be enrolled in a graduate school
OR
- Have a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree.
Interview Process:
- Applications will close on November 15th, 2025
- If selected, the expectation is that offers will be extended end of November.
- The program will begin on January 13th, 2025.
Hospitality Associate Expectations:
- Assists Hospitality team with end-to-end client hospitality initiatives and programs, including venue research, activation and gifting ideation and deck creation for client deliverables;
- Will learn how to build and maintain positive client relationships that result in increased reliance upon Excel;
- Will learn how to develop ideas for engaging event branding, collateral, and on-site materials;
- Will learn how to create planning tracking tools and on-site materials: rooming lists, confirmation documents, food and beverage schedule, transportation manifest, etc.
- Assists in the management and data upload/tracking of client deliverables;
- Assists the Hospitality team with confidential client projects;
- Will gain a thorough understanding of the coordination and planning process of hospitality events and/or appearances for clients;
- Will learn the process of negotiation and execution of contracts;
- Will gain cross-functional exposure in the collaboration of client presentations and/or pitches;
- Will have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings;
- May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Brand Marketing group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel;
- May be asked to travel for event work and provide on-site support for events outside of normal business hours
The pay for this position is: $16.50 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the California and New York City Salary Transparency Law.
