Position Summary: Excel Sports Management is seeking an experienced Director, Brand Marketing to support a key corporate client on a new global sponsorship. This person will provide day-to-day account leadership and management of a global, multi-property league partnership. This person will support the development of the overall partnership strategy and activation plan and will serve as the day-to-day point person in managing the rollout and execution of the partnership.
Responsibilities:
- Support Excel Brand Marketing client’s global league partnership, including strategy, positioning, platform development, messaging, activation, and reporting of results
- Build relationships with key client, property, and IAT stakeholders
- Interact frequently with senior-level clients and all appropriate agency/property leadership to direct sponsorship programming initiatives
- Bring day-to-day account leadership to the rollout and execution of the partnership and its activation priorities
- Support the development of client’s anchor platform and positioning with its global partnerships
- Manage client-vendor relationships and activation deliverables on behalf of clients
- Bring strong, relevant experience, knowledge, expertise, and insights to client status calls, maintaining responsibility for development of deliverables, documents, and follow ups
- Build materials that support individual sponsorship initiatives, including creative elements, preparation of activation presentations and other materials to be distributed to clients and other key stakeholders
- Manage the building, sustaining, and reconciling of budgets, along with providing client budget updates for any relevant partnership execution platforms
- Collaborate internally with other departments and externally with key vendors to ensure the highest standard of work product is consistently delivered
- Proactively develop and maintain outstanding knowledge of sports marketing landscape and client industries in order to identify and act upon new opportunities for our clients
- Manage day-to-day account team to ensure flawless client-service and a second-to-none agency experience
- Attend and participate in client and company events which may include some nights and weekends
- Travel to client events as necessary
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
- 8+ years of direct experience in sponsorship marketing or brand marketing strategy and activation, with a minimum of 4+ years of agency experience required
- 3+ years of people management/team leadership experience
- Experience developing and implementing sponsorship marketing strategies and activations on behalf of clients or companies, with direct experience with companies in the technology sector(s)
- Experience overseeing and managing league-level sports partnerships, including specific experience with NBA partnerships
- Proven sports marketing and agency experience managing day-to-day relationships with clients, agencies, and internal teams

The pay range for this position is $140,000 - $155,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
