Position Summary:
Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in supporting the Creative Director to shape the visual identity and creative output of our agency and its many clients. They will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and executing high-quality design solutions across a variety of platforms and mediums. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of design principles, excellent technical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Finally, we’re looking for a customer service-oriented candidate who demonstrates leadership qualities. This position will be based out of the New York City office.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualization and Ideation: Collaborate with the creative team and key stakeholders to develop innovative and effective design concepts that align with client objectives and brand guidelines.
- Design Execution: Translate creative briefs and concepts into compelling visual designs for a wide range of projects, including but not limited to:
- Brand identity development and guidelines
- Sales and Marketing and assets (digital and print)
- Social media graphics and content
- Event branding and collateral
- Presentations and pitch decks for B2B, RFPs, and recruiting
- WYSIWYG web design (preferred, not required)
- Some video editing and motion graphics (preferred, not required)
- Brand Management: Ensure all design work adheres to established brand guidelines and maintains brand consistency across all divisions.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budgets, and communicating progress effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing managers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of design and messaging.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their growth and development.
- Trend Awareness: Stay up to date on the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices within the sports and marketing industries.
- Presentation Skills: Effectively present design concepts and rationale to internal teams and clients. Ability to effectively lead external presentations is preferred, not required.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and solve design challenges, offering creative and effective solutions.
- Leadership: Lead with effective and respectful communication, owning missteps, and strategizing how to prevent their recurrence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training) in graphic design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional design experience, ideally within a large agency, in-house creative department, or brand.
- Strong digital portfolio or reel showcasing a diverse range of projects.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
- Expertise in consumer apps like Power Point, Google Slides, Word, etc.
- Strong understanding of design principles (typography, layout, color theory, visual hierarchy).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Passion for sports and a strong understanding of the sports industry is highly preferred.
- Experience with motion graphics and video editing is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
The pay range for this position is: $120,000- $130,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
