UX Design Consultant

We are seeking an experienced UX Design Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will partner directly with clients to uncover user and business needs, and translate them into intuitive, evidence-based digital experiences across web and mobile platforms.
The ideal candidate combines strong research and strategic-thinking skills with hands-on interaction design ability, is comfortable facilitating workshops and presenting to senior stakeholders and stays current with modern design tools, AI-assisted workflows and accessibility standards.
Location: Atlanta, GA; Hybrid work environment.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and conduct user research (interviews, surveys, contextual inquiry, usability testing) and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights
- Facilitate design thinking workshops, journey mapping sessions and stakeholder alignment activities with client teams
- Translate research into sitemaps, user flows, service blueprints, journey maps, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes
- Design and iterate on interaction patterns and visual solutions using tools such as Figma, FigJam and AI-assisted design and prototyping tools
- Partner with product managers, engineers and content strategists to define product functionality and ensure feasible, cohesive experiences
- Apply and advocate for accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and inclusive design practices throughout the design process
- Conduct usability and A/B testing on key interface elements (CTAs, navigation, forms, landing pages, and banners) and iterate based on findings
- Contribute to and help maintain design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency across client products
- Track UX trends, emerging tools and competitor products, and bring fresh perspective and best practices to client engagements
- Present design rationale, research findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
- 7–10 years of experience applying UX design best practices, with deep expertise in mobile-first, responsive and multi-platform design
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant product management certifications preferred.
- Consulting and/or Digital Product Agency experience required with a proven ability to manage client expectations and adapt to diverse client environments.
- Proven experience leading digital product concepting, from problem framing through high-fidelity execution
- Strong foundation in user-centered design, design thinking and human-centered research methods
- Hands-on proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, FigJam, Adobe XD) and familiarity with AI-assisted design and research tools
- Experience planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, A/B testing and heuristic evaluation
- Ability to synthesize ambiguous, sometimes conflicting inputs into clear design direction and concrete recommendations
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, with experience presenting design concepts and rationale to clients and cross-functional stakeholders
- Comfort working directly with clients to gather detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet their needs and vision
- A consultant’s mindset (adaptable, curious, and comfortable wearing multiple hats across research, design, and strategy) with a deep understanding of business drivers
- Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently, and to work effectively in a team setting, synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications
- Passionate about resolving user pain points through great design, and open to feedback and constructive criticism
- Genuine interest in UX and the broader design and innovation landscape, with a habit of researching and applying the industry’s latest trends and technologies
