Department: Operations – Reports to Branch Manager
Job Summary
The Service Manager is responsible for leading all lawn care service operations within the branch. This role ensures that customers receive high-quality applications, exceptional service, and a professional Green Envy by ExperiGreen experience. The Service Manager oversees production planning, service quality, safety compliance, training, route execution, and technician performance.
Working closely with the Branch Manager, the Service Manager helps drive customer retention, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, product usage accuracy, and branch-level growth. This position requires strong leadership, technical lawn care knowledge, and consistent hands-on field engagement to support technicians and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Service Representative team to deliver safe, accurate, and professional lawn care applications.
- Conduct onboarding, field training, ride-alongs, licensing preparation, and ongoing technical development.
- Provide regular performance feedback and support technicians in meeting production, quality, and customer service expectations.
- Partner with the Branch Manager on staffing needs, scheduling, workforce planning, and seasonal labor management.
Service Operations & Quality Control
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete execution of all lawn and landscape applications per Green Envy by ExperiGreen standards.
- Oversee daily routes and production schedules to maximize efficiency, route density, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor product inventory, material usage, and equipment readiness; ensure accurate recordkeeping for product applications.
- Conduct periodic quality audits, site visits, and follow-up inspections to ensure service accuracy and overall lawn health.
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols, PPE use, chemical handling regulations, and company/industry guidelines.
Customer Relations & Retention
- Respond to service-related customer inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Support service recovery efforts and ensure corrective service actions are completed accurately and on time.
- Work with technicians to promote customer education, cross-selling, and seasonal recommendations.
- Maintain a customer-first culture through consistent communication, professionalism, and follow-through.
Operational Support & Branch Collaboration
- Assist in managing production goals, labor management, seasonal planning, and daily workflow coordination.
- Ensure vehicles, equipment, and facility areas meet company appearance and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Service, and Branch Leadership to maintain alignment across all functions.
- Support branch-level initiatives focused on retention, quality improvement, operational efficiency, and service consistency.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in business, horticulture, agronomy, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of lawn care, horticulture, agronomy, landscaping, or related service experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record per company standards.
- Ability to obtain state-required certifications for fertilizer/pesticide applications.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve customer and technician issues quickly and professionally.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and internal operational systems for routing, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ability to motivate teams and maintain accountability in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Solid understanding of lawn care applications, product usage, and environmental/safety regulations.

Working Conditions
- Combination of indoor office work and outdoor field supervision.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, fertilizers, pesticides, and lawn care equipment (PPE provided)
- Frequent walking, driving, standing, and moderate lifting.
- Local travel required, occasional evening or weekend work during peak seasons.
