What you'll do
As a Frontend Developer, you will help maintain and evolve our product websites, including our flagship extension product websites getadblock.com and adblockplus.org. You'll be responsible for building and optimizing scalable, secure, and high-performing websites and web applications that deliver exceptional user experiences.
This includes creating custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations and ensuring the websites remain up-to-date with the latest web standards and best practices. You'll also troubleshoot and resolve issues, implement new features, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the websites with business and user needs. Through your expertise, you'll play a key role in ensuring our web presence reflects our commitment to quality and innovation.
Your day-to-day activities:
- Help launch, further develop, and maintain static websites, web applications, and frontend components, using cloud services and headless WordPress
- Monitor and adapt to changes in web standards, browser updates, and best practices to scale efficiently, maintain compatibility, and optimize performance
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, implement features, and troubleshoot issues
- Foster team collaboration by contributing to code reviews, mentoring colleagues, and sharing knowledge of best practices
What you bring to the table
- 5+ years of real-world experience working as a Fullstack Web Developer or a similar role
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with hands-on experience in building responsive and accessible web applications
- Experience with WordPress theme development, plugin development, internationalization, and Gutenberg block development
- Comfort with modern web development workflows and tools, including continuous integration (GitHub Actions, Gitlab CI), Git, unit testing (Playwright), and Docker
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and optimize code
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in both synchronous and asynchronous team environments
- Experience with PHP, Python, Static Website Builders, NodeJS, Express, Cloud/Edge Functions, Google Cloud Services, Cloudflare services, WPML, BigQuery SQL, image and video optimization and TypeScript are nice to have
