As an Engineering Manager of ezCater’s Supplier Marketing Platform squad, you will focus on leading the team that is building new ways for our restaurant partners to grow their businesses on ezCater’s platform.  This will include integrating advertising technologies into our platform and creating a delightful self service user experience. Your immediate scope of responsibility includes overseeing our Supplier Marketing Platform team and working with Staff and Principal engineers to define projects and technical designs.  You’ll report to the Senior Engineering Manager on the Supply-side of ezCater Engineering.

 

What You'll Do:

• Build, lead, and mentor an exceptional team of software engineers, leading conversations, and cultivating execution and decision-making; all while delighting our customers and propelling our team of engineers to execute projects.
• Contribute to the overall success of the engineering manager cohort across the organization via leading by example, collaborating on best practices, and building effective processes.
• Operate with scale and speed, determining the ideal development lifecycle, technical design, and approach for new and existing solutions. Ensuring best practices for software development are followed while delivering high-quality work by fostering pragmatism and urgency.
• Contribute technically: Brainstorm with engineers, design technical solutions, occasionally review PRs. There is no expectation of, and no discouraging of, occasionally shipping your own, non-blocking code.
• Leverage your technical expertise and communication skills to collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams in the organization to influence our systems and roadmaps.
• Have fun building meaningful software with wonderful people who enjoy shipping impactful work.

What You Have:

• 2+ years as an engineering manager of a team of at least 4, 7+ total years of experience in software engineering
• A passion for building and growing high-performing teams, prior management experience, and a desire to be an impactful leader.
• Flexible growth mindset, you’re willing to do what it takes to adapt your team and power them for success.
• Extensive full-stack web development experience. Ideally, from an eCommerce and/or SaaS setting. 
• Working knowledge of modern server-side and client-side frameworks. Ruby, Rails, and React would be a huge plus.
• AdTech and/or FinTech experience is a bonus, preferably at a startup.

 

The national cash compensation range for this role is $179,000 - $229,000* per year.

*Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise and region & may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits (such as equity, 401K or medical, dental or vision insurance).
