FabFitFun is looking for a Controller to lead our Controllership Department at our Beverly Hills HQ. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will lead and build the accounting organization, owning all aspects of accounting, including treasury, tax, financial reporting, AP/AR, and technical accounting.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, including a proven track record of building and managing a successful accounting organization.

Office: FabFitFun operations from a hybrid schedule of 4 days a week in-office, out of our Beverly Hills HQ. This role is not eligible for remote. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Own monthly, quarterly and annual financial close. Work closely with FP&A team to deliver reporting of historical financial data
  • Interpret, develop, implement and monitor accounting policies, processes, and procures. Maintain and further build out an accounting manual. Educate the accounting team and overall Company on accounting processes
  • Work cross functionally with key stakeholders across the organization to identify and properly account for transactions. Analyze accounting issues and prepare memorandums based on research and analysis of authoritative and interpretative guidance
  • Serve as the project manager for the Controllership special projects, including acquisitions, system integrations, investments, and new business initiatives. Assess the financial implications of proposed transactions, including developing pro-forma financial information
  • Utilize technical expertise to assess and recommend deal structures and contract terms
  • Oversee financial valuation models. Coordinate valuations with our 3rd party valuation firm
  • Monitor the development of new accounting standards, including their potential impact on the financial statements. Lead implementation of new accounting standards, including implementation of new processes, systems, and training programs
  • Lead the annual financial statement audit process and statutory audits
  • Maintain existing internal controls and identify and design new internal controls as needed
  • Collaborate closely with external tax advisors, provide supporting documentation, and review the 3rd party prepared tax provision to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Oversee cash management and serve as primary liaison for commercial banking relationships

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance, Economics) required
  • An active CPA License
  • Strong leadership, decision making, and technical skills
  • Public Accounting Experience (Big 4 Preferred)
  • Proficiency with Netsuite
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex financial topics to non-technical audiences
  • Consumer Products and subscription experience preferred

The expected base salary range for this position is $200K-225K + annual bonus eligibility of 15%. The compensation package will also include an initial equity grant, in addition to a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks & benefits. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications.
