Business Operations Project Manager

Business Operations Project Manager

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise PMO, the Business Operations Project Manager will oversee and drive the delivery of key strategic initiatives across our company including those in Marketing, Education, and Operations departments.  Responsibilities also include leading product change requests and guiding the development and evolution of critical business processes. This role involves planning, executing, and closing projects while collaborating with key stakeholders in every department to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively. This is a hybrid role working onsite in Danville, CA every Tuesday - Thursday and remotely Mondays and Fridays. *Please note that we are not in a position to support Visa sponsorship at this time.


Responsibilities and Essential Functions

 

Project Management: 

  • Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. 
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and roles and responsibilities. 
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. 
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, helping identify viable solutions to mitigate impact.

 

Process Development: 

  • Work with functional leaders to identify areas for process improvement across various business operation functions. 
  • Develop and implement new processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs). 
  • Monitor the effectiveness of new processes and adjust as needed. 

 

Stakeholder Management: 

  • Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project goals. 
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure smooth project execution. 
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to senior management. 

 

Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, status reports, and project hindsight. 
  • Provide regular project progress reports and performance metrics to stakeholders. 

 

Escalation and Reporting: 

  • Escalate significant project risks and issues to the leadership team in a timely manner, providing detailed risk assessments and proposed mitigation strategies. 
  • Ensure transparent communication regarding project risks and their implications to relevant stakeholders. 

 

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or supply chain management. Advanced degree in MBA preferred. 
  • PMP, Agile certification preferred.   
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, preferably within CPG and Cosmetics/Beauty space.   
  • Proven experience managing projects across marketing, product development, and supply chain organization. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing critical business processes. 
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficient in Project management software (e.g., MS Project, Monday, Smartsheet, Excel, Confluence/JIRA etc). 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage complex tasks. 


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to move around the office including stooping, crouching, and/or kneeling to troubleshoot issues
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Comfortable lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials
  • Comfortable using a computer, keyboard, and mouse

Salary: $105k-115k per year plus bonus and full benefits package
