VP of Sales

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer the VP of Sales is responsible for spearheading our business development and account management initiatives. This role is essential for driving growth in our small-to-medium-sized company through effective inside account management and field sales efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a proven sales track record, preferably in the skincare industry, and will be instrumental in expanding our reach across various channels, including estheticians, dermatologists, physicians, plastic surgeons, and other skincare professionals. This position will also lead, mentor and manage the inside account management team, and field sales. 


Responsibilities and Essential Functions

 

Sales Strategy and Relationship Building: 

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Co-lead the annual planning process, gathering insights, analytics, and market segmentation.
  • Oversee the Sales Leadership team and mentor sales personnel, fostering a high-performance culture centered on collaboration and accountability.
  • Recruit, train, and retain top sales talent.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective management of inside and field sales teams, including the development of commission structures to motivate performance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in dermatology, plastic surgery, and other skincare sectors.
  • Position Face Reality Skincare as the preferred partner in professional skincare solutions by establishing new channel entries.
  • Collaborate with education, marketing, product development, and Acne Success teams to align sales strategies with business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
  • Implement efficient sales processes and tools to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Develop a Sales Playbook outlining go-to-market strategies and execution guidelines to enable sales teams to achieve their goals.
  • Manage customer-level trade budgets and targets in alignment with playbook direction.
  • Assist in the creation and reconciliation of top-down and bottom-up planning.

 

Advanced Analytics & Forecasting:

  • Analyze promotional execution results vs expectations (Playbook) and competition.
  • Create framework for ROI against all Playbook initiatives to provide clear and concise direction/updates to the field sales teams.
  • HQ point of contact for Field Sales Organization
  • Assists in the planning and execution of sales meetings and quarterly Customer reviews

 

Product Knowledge:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of our professional Acne skincare product line and business solution to effectively educate and guide clients. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitors' offerings. 

 

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, experience in B2B sales within the skincare or beauty industry, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Experience in the professional skincare industry mandatory; knowledge of acne treatment and experience within the Physician/Dermatology Channel is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing sales teams, driving results through motivation and mentorship. This will include building out the organization design of the Sales and Business development team, compensation structures and incentive plans.
  • Demonstrated experience leading very high growth in a small/medium sized company
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic market. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools. 
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support field sales activities and build relationships with key accounts.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to move around the office including stooping, crouching, and/or kneeling to troubleshoot issues
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Comfortable lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials
  • Comfortable using a computer, keyboard, and mouse

Salary: $230k-$250k plus bonus and full benefits package
