The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior / Staff Power Cell Development Engineer who will be responsible for Factorial’s next-generation cell product development and cell technology. The successful candidate will assume a cell engineering and development role and join Factorial’s team in South Korea. This role will execute new platform development for silicon-based drone cells and LMB power cells in accordance with the technical roadmap, including material, formula, and process evaluations to enable product realisation. The role involves designing cell products according to customer requirements and validating performance, including electrochemical and safety performance, while driving continuous optimization. The engineer will lead NPI activities and be responsible for preparing and releasing all related documentation, including BOMs, DFMEAs, and a sample-building index. The role will participate in technical discussions with customers related to new product development programs and support battery material development, including cathodes (high-nickel NMC), anodes (graphite with silicon-based materials and lithium metal), separators, binders, and current collector foils, while also supporting other internal departments on cell product–related technical issues.
Duties and Responsibilities for the power cell development engineer (cover Si drone and LMB power cell):
- Base on the technical roadmap to conduct the new platform development including the material, formula, process evaluation to make it come true.
- Base on the customer requirements to design the cell products. And validate the performance including electrochemical/safety performance, then conduct the continuous optimization.
- Lead the new produce NPI, Responsible for all the related documents preparation and release, including the BOM, DFMEA and sample building index,
- Follow up the sample building and solve the issue, lead the FA
- Join the discussion with customers about the new product development-related topic.
- Support battery materials developments, for example: cathode (high Ni NMC), Anode (graphite+SiC, Li metal), Separator, new binder, collector foil etc.
- Support the other departments for the cell product related issues.
Requirements:
- At least mater degree
- At least 3years of power cell or drone cell product development experience. Know the lithium-ion battery and lithium metal battery very well. Can lead the product development independantly.
- Good FA/problem solving/data analysis capability
- Good communication with English.
- Rich experience for customer communication.
