about our internship program:
The fairlife Summer Internship Program is designed to welcome interns across our locations to gain meaningful experience and social and professional development opportunities. For 11 weeks, interns will work in one of our three locations: Chicago, IL, Coopersville, MI, or Goodyear, AZ. fairlife’s paid internship program also offers a summer full of social, professional, and community engagement events including exposure to our senior leadership and executives across the business in small group settings, insight into company initiatives, off-site field trips, and for those qualified and selected, an opportunity to pursue a full-time job opportunity.
The fairlife 2025 Summer Internship Program will take place from 6/2 through 8/15 at the fairlife location specified in this job description.
job purpose: The Channel and Customer Strategy team leads strategic planning and the go-to-market plan for all channels and customers within North America. As the intern on the Channel and Customer Strategy team, this role will support strategy, planning, and communication to our National Retail Sales, Zone Sales and Franchise Operations teams for the fairlife portfolio of dairy-based nutrition brands. They will work primarily to support retail customer teams, though they may offer support to franchise operations and bottler partner teams as time allows. The ideal candidate understands that true value creation, both for our customers and the company, is built upon a long-term, shared vision of growth that is grounded in consumer and shopper needs/occasions and informed by leading edge category and channel insights. This individual will work seamlessly across multiple functions within fairlife to support strategic selling decks that deliver long-term, profitable growth for the company and our most valued retail partners.
skills/qualifications required:
- Must be currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program, entering the fall semester as a junior or senior (preferred)
- Preferred focus on Data Analytics, Consumer Insights/Sociology, Marketing, Business, Operations, Management, Information Systems, or Sales
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0, or higher
- Always curious, always asking questions, and always striving to learn
- High proficiency with all Microsoft Office platforms, specifically Excel and PowerPoint (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs in Excel and charting data in PPT)
- Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
learning objectives:
- Exposure to how mid-sized CPG companies (fairlife) and large CPG companies (The Coca-Cola Company) operate
- Learn about other functions within CPG companies such as Category Commercial, Sales, Shopper Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, Brand/Marketing, Knowledge & Insights, Digital, and Business Intelligence
- Develop an understanding each of the fairlife brands and all the channels and routes to market (warehouse vs. bottler-delivered) that fairlife plays in
- Develop an understanding of fairlife Commercial priorities by diving into Channel Plans
- Learn how to use popular syndicated data sources (Nielsen, 84.51, Numerator, etc.) to drive business strategy forward
- Work cross-functionally with other Commercial team functions to learn full scope of channel strategy
