job purpose: The Asset Care Manager is responsible for overseeing the facility and equipment maintenance including all utilities, process and packaging equipment, parts procurement, planning, automation, and department budget. The individual will possess a strong technical background and proven history to lead a talented group of supervisors, mechanics, ICT, engineers, planner, and parts procurement.
responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the performance and development of our maintenance SME staff in the areas of packaging, processing, and utilities.
- Responsible for the effective planning, scheduling and execution of all maintenance activities including preventative, predictive, breakdown and overhaul maintenance activities.
- Responsible for eliminating failures within all areas of maintenance.
- Develop and optimize our preventative and predictive maintenance program including task details, PM durations to ensure proactive execution and consistent plant operation while ensuring every asset in our plant has a thoroughly planned asset care program behind it.
- Develop and utilize predictive maintenance program to prevent failures on critical equipment. Condition based tools to include ultrasonic and vibration analysis, thermal imaging, tribology, etc.
- Drives the creation of training materials for both our technical and our operations team.
- Delivers training to our technical and operations team in the areas of technical best practices.
- Supports managing all aspects of the plant CMMS system and calibration system for tracking, documentation, and planning.
- Documentation of all schematics, diagram changes, and PLC programming documentation changes to keep plant records current.
- Performs risk assessment of critical spare parts and manage inventory to appropriate levels.
- Finds opportunities to consolidate spare parts across of plant to drive a reduction in total needed spares.
- Supports all regulatory utility records and annual services: backflow prevention, boiler inspections, transformer oil sampling, steam trap audits and chemical record retention.
- Works with contractors and fairlife resources external to Goodyear in the effort of building a worldclass asset care strategy.
- Work closely with other departments on RCA/CI strategies requiring thorough documentation in Quality Control platform.
- Work with engineering, OEM’s and/or suppliers to perform equipment / asset value engineering or redesign to improve performance. Also provide maintenance expert POV to engineering when specifying new equipment design or placement.
- Establish daily routines and standards for the SME team to follow.
- Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership.
- Effectively support the annual equipment overhauls which includes planning, purchasing and execution of planned timelines.
- Drive capital projects as needed in the area of reliability.
skills/qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Leadership discipline required – may substitute 10 years of work experience in a production setting involving consumer packaging goods, electronics, instrumentation, electrical, and general mechanical with at least five years of supervisory experience.
- Most have a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a team in a food or beverage manufacturing setting.
- Must work in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety and GMP procedures.
- Must have a working knowledge of processing, packaging, and utilities equipment life cycles.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot problems and be persistent until a solution is found.
- Must be willing to ask for assistance when the process or next steps are unclear.
- Understand and be able to have a subservient leadership style and be able to place the team first.
- Be able to establish and maintain the sense of urgency and accountability for themselves and our team.
- Must be willing to travel for training and to support other sites as needed. Not to exceed more than 10% of total working time for the year, unless they volunteer for more.
- Must be a good communicator both within their department and with all departments outside of maintenance.

- Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required which may affect product quality or food safety.
- Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the company.
- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
