job purpose: We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Manufacturing Execution System Administrator to lead the development of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) capabilities and manage the administration and configuration of our Inductive Automation Ignition platform. This role is critical in supporting digital manufacturing initiatives, ensuring system reliability, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the plant.
responsibilities:
MES Development & Support
· Design, implement, and maintain MES applications within Ignition (e.g., work order management, traceability, downtime tracking, quality data collection).
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable MES solutions.
· Work closely with data and decision intelligence team and automation engineers to develop and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards to support production and quality operations
· Integrate MES with ERP systems and other enterprise platforms to ensure seamless data flow.
· Provide on-call and after-hours support for critical manufacturing system capabilities.
· Respond to and resolve urgent system issues that impact production operations.
Ignition System Administration
· Own the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of the Ignition platform across the manufacturing environment.
· Manage user access, security roles, project versioning, and gateway backups.
· Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and uptime.
· Maintain documentation for system architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
· Stay current with Ignition updates, modules, and best practices to ensure platform optimization.
skills/qualifications required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
· 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on MES and system
administration.
· Strong experience with Inductive Automation Ignition, including system administration, project configuration, and scripting (Python, SQL, JavaScript).
· Proven experience managing and scaling Ignition platforms in production environments.
· Experience with MES functionality such as OEE, traceability, SPC, and production scheduling.
· Ignition Certification (Core and/or Gold) highly preferred.

Base pay range:
$90,000 - $120,000 USD
