We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Product Manager to lead our Risk Products team. This role will be responsible for coordinating all product efforts related to building robust risk systems for internal risk management and managing the credit and market risk on our lending products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building risk management products and processes, and will thrive in a fast paced cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy and Roadmap:

    • Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for risk management systems.
    • Align product initiatives with the overall business goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer needs, market trends, and business impact.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with engineering, trading, data science, compliance, legal, and operations teams to design and implement risk management solutions.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define product specifications, and ensure successful delivery of risk products.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to drive project success.
  3. Risk Management Expertise:

    • Utilize your knowledge of advanced risk management processes and metrics to develop effective risk monitoring, alerting, and management strategies.
    • Ensure that risk management systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Understand different levers of credit, market and liquidity risk and best practices to manage and mitigate risk.
  4. Customer Focus:

    • Engage with clients to understand their risk management needs and challenges.
    • Gather feedback and insights to inform product development and enhance the user experience.
    • Provide training and support to clients on using risk management tools effectively.
  5. Data-Driven Decision Making:

    • Leverage data analytics to drive product decisions and measure the impact of risk management solutions.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
    • Use data to continuously improve risk products and processes.
  6. Project Management:

    • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization.
    • Create detailed project plans, set milestones, and track progress to ensure timely delivery.
    • Identify and mitigate risks to project timelines and deliverables.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience building out institutional risk platforms with a team of engineers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, processes, and metrics.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment and managing complex projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to risk management.
  • Strong ability to manage large scale development efforts from a product perspective
  • Experience with VAR and / or SPAN models and cross margining frameworks
  • Self-starter yet knows when to ask for help and works great in a team
  • Strives to simultaneously achieve high-velocity and high-quality output
  • Willingness and ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Thrives in a dynamic and high-pressured environment
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Bonus: Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and simple scripting languages such as Python
  • Bonus: Knowledge of crypto markets and market structure including trading on exchanges.

Base pay for this role is expected to be between $127,000 - $254,000 USD. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as skillset, experience, and qualifications.
