
Product Manager - Head of Spot Trading

As a Product Manager, you will function as a Technical Product Leader for our core electronic trading platform. You will fully own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Spot Crypto and FX Trading infrastructure, ensuring we provide a scalable, robust, and high-performance solution for institutional customers. The candidate will partner with internal teams to build and maintain scalable, robust, performant solutions for institutional customers. The scope encompasses all the systems that support the platform - routing, trading system infrastructure, performance monitoring and client experience and the entire trade lifecycle.
What You Will Own & Deliver (Key Responsibilities)
Your role involves driving the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and overall execution of technical designs and builds to ensure maximum impact across three core layers:
- Infrastructure & Reliability: Drive quarterly investment in latency and reliability improvements to the core trading stack, directly impacting throughput, reduced slippage, and increased fill rates.
- Application Layer: Lead the development of new platform features, including advanced order types/algos (e.g., Stop Loss, Icebergs), enhancing FIX infrastructure to support scale, and updating core spreading logic to allow for dynamic skewing.
- Liquidity Layer: Enhance the liquidity provider program by building internal tools to track and report status and gaps. Drive the roadmap for developing sophisticated hedging and smart order routing models.
- Execution Management: Be responsible for writing Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) for technical improvements across the infrastructure and application layers.
- Support & Oversight: Provide general day-to-day management support during US hours, including tracking and reporting for proactive issue identification, resolution, and supporting revenue teams in technical conversations.
- Quality Assurance: Create testing frameworks and test cases for individual product releases and build tools to track and report trading data and success metrics for these releases.
General Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive experience in Technical Product Management or Technical Program Management within a fast-paced electronic trading environment.
- 2+ years of experience in API Development, with a proven track record in technical product management focused on API design and management.
- Must have 2+ years of experience in brokerage, market-making, or institutional trading, ideally with exposure to foreign exchange (FX) or Crypto or payment solutions.
- Deep expertise in building and managing high-performance trading infrastructure.
- Proficient in collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders—Sales, Engineering, Partnerships, Operations, and Compliance—to capture all technical requirements and drive successful product launches.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, thriving in a high-speed, 24/7 digital asset environment.
- Strong team orientation and a willingness to operate in the weeds of technical detail.
- Track record of end-to-end technical ownership and delivering complex, high-impact results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience building/managing active trading systems or algorithmic hedging strategies.
- Prior experience in the digital assets industry is a significant advantage.
- Previous experience as an early/founding team member at a growth-stage startup.
- Possession of an MBA, FRM, or CFA certification would be advantageous.
Compensation:
The base pay for this role is expected to be between $166,000-$224,000 in the New York City and San Francisco Bay Area. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as location, skillset, experience, qualifications and the level at which the candidate is hired.
