
Finance Associate – Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting

About the Role
We are seeking a Finance Associate to join our Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing full-fledged financial statements from scratch, managing technical accounting matters, and supporting M&A accounting transactions. The ideal candidate brings a strong Big 4 advisory background, deep domain knowledge in financial services and products, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Statement Preparation: Draft and prepare complete end-to-end USGAAP and IFRS financial statements from scratch, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements (P&L), Notes to Accounts and relevant Disclosures.
- Statutory Reporting & Compliances: Ensure compliance with applicable statutory accounting frameworks and technical standards.
- Technical Accounting: Handle complex accounting treatments and technical disclosures related to financial instruments and financial products.
- M&A & Deal Accounting: Support M&A accounting activities, business combinations, and special accounting projects.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Assist with reporting platform enhancements and system implementation initiatives.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4+ years of relevant experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.
- Firm Background: Big 4 experience is strongly preferred, with a focus on client advisory or technical accounting consulting (rather than standard financial audit).
- Domain Knowledge: Strong background in Financial Services, with hands-on understanding of financial instruments and complex financial products.
- Technical Mastery: Demonstrated ability to prepare full financial statements and notes to accounts independently.
- Communication & Aptitude: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Prior experience working with or implementation of Workiva platform
- Prior exposure to accounting advisory services or M&A transaction support.
- Experience or working knowledge of financial platform implementations.
