About the Role

The Staff Accountant I supports the day-to-day accounting operations of FAM Brands, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. This position plays a critical role in maintaining general ledger accounts, processing vendor invoices, performing reconciliations, and supporting the month-end close. You’ll work closely with the Accounting team and cross-functional teams to ensure timely, compliant, and organized financial activity in a fast-paced, growing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • General Accounting

    • Prepare, reconcile, and maintain general ledger accounts, including journal entries and month-end closing activities.

    • Conduct bank and account reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate financial data.

    • Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset schedules.

    • Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.

  • Accounts Payable

    • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, legitimacy, and proper authorization.

    • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports to confirm goods were received before payment.

    • Enter approved invoices into the accounts payable system, schedule payments, and monitor deadlines to avoid late fees.

    • Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables and supporting documentation for audits and compliance.

    • Reconcile vendor statements with ledger records, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.

    • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, resolve invoice disputes, and maintain strong vendor relationships.

  • Collaboration & Process Improvement

    • Partner with departments such as Operations, HR, Production, and Logistics to ensure consistent and accurate accounting data.

    • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.

    • Assist with internal and external audit requests and ensure compliance with company policies.

    • Participate in special projects or other accounting-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • 1–3 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment, preferably within manufacturing, apparel, or consumer goods.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with NetSuite or Workday Financials a plus).

  • Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

At FAM Brands, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation. Salary ranges for positions are based on job level, location, and market data. We offer competitive benefits and are dedicated to equal pay for equal work. Specific salary offers depend on each candidate’s qualifications and experience. FAM Brands also offers all employees participation in our annual bonus program (Non-Sales) or commission program (Sales).

Compensation Range

$30 - $30 USD
