Job Overview
The Technology team at SFM is looking for a Senior Windows Systems Engineer to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain a hybrid environment. As a Senior Windows Systems Engineer, you should have in depth experience within the Microsoft ecosystem (Operating Systems, AD, Messaging, etc.), as well as an understanding of storage and virtualization technologies. This role involves heavy automation using PowerShell. Applicants should have knowledge with public cloud environments and the M365 suite.
Major Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain network, server, Active Directory and IaaS/PaaS cloud services in a Microsoft-centric environment containing some Linux workloads.
- Designs, build and maintain corporate data storage and compute resources consisting of various SAN and backup solutions, VMWare Hypervisors and Cisco UCS Blades.
- Develop PowerShell systems to automate operational tasks and improve the reliability of the Windows platform. Implement configuration as code to reduce the operational overhead of managing Windows infrastructure
- Implementation of solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS and M365, as well as various other supporting cloud services.
- Participate in 24x7x365 coverage and support for all associated infrastructure.
- Maintain adherence to our existing change control and documentation process.
What We Value
- Expert in Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Microsoft365, Azure AD/AD, Windows Server 2019+, DHCP, DNS, Intune.
- In-depth knowledge of email messaging systems.
- Expert in hybrid and cloud-based compute, storage, and containerization solutions.
- Expert in automation and scripting. Advanced skills in PowerShell, with familiarity in Terraform and SQL.
- 1-3 years’ experience with AWS or Azure public cloud.
- 5+ years’ experience designing and implementing high availability, active/active, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with Linux server systems administration such as RedHat and Ubuntu.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills along with collaborative team skills are required.
We anticipate the base salary of this role to be between $200,000-250,000. In addition to a base salary, the successful candidate will also be eligible to receive a discretionary year-end bonus
