Vice President of Finance
Vice President (VP) of Finance
Role Summary
Operational Healthcare Finance Leader | PE/VC-Backed Growth
FamilyWell Health is seeking an operationally rigorous Vice President of Finance to help scale our tech-enabled women’s mental health platform nationally. This is a critical leadership role at a high-growth, Series A healthcare services company expanding access to high-quality, equitable mental health care for women across the reproductive lifecycle.
We are seeking a hands-on healthcare finance operator with deep experience in PE- or VC-backed startups with deep expertise in the full revenue lifecycle from reimbursement to cash conversion and can build the financial systems required for disciplined, capital-efficient growth.

Role Details
Location: Remote (preference for Greater Boston area)
Department: Finance
Reports to: CEO
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $175,000-$215,000 base salary, plus bonus eligibility and equity. This range may be adjusted for exceptional candidates based on experience, scope, and role alignment.
The Opportunity
The Vice President of Finance will serve as a strategic and operational partner to the CEO and executive leadership team. This leader will own financial planning and analysis, build driver-based forecasting models, and ensure strong visibility into cash runway, unit economics, and operating leverage. They will translate complex healthcare reimbursement dynamics into clear financial insights that guide disciplined, capital-efficient decision-making.
A central focus of this role will be strengthening revenue cycle performance and cash realization. The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with healthcare reimbursement models, including commercial and Medicaid payers, and understands the operational drivers that convert billed revenue into realized cash flow. In close partnership with Revenue Cycle Management, this leader will monitor and improve key metrics such as days in AR, net collection rate, denial trends, and overall cash conversion cycle.
Importantly, this role requires sufficient technical depth to oversee the accounting function with confidence. VP of Finance must be capable of supervising accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, maintaining strong internal controls, and upholding disciplined financial governance as the company scales. Experience partnering closely with a Controller or leading accounting within a growth-stage healthcare organization is essential.
The VP of Finance will also own board-level financial reporting, runway modeling, and capital planning. Experience operating within a PE- or VC-backed company is required, as this role will support future debt and equity financing and ensure strong financial governance. This individual must be comfortable presenting to board members and investors, balancing growth ambitions with capital efficiency and margin discipline.
This is a builder role with a clear path toward CFO as FamilyWell continues to scale.
