About FamilyWell Health

FamilyWell Health is a women's behavioral health company embedding the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) into OB/GYN, primary care, and adjacent women's health practices. Our model enables women's health providers to deliver equitable, affordable, evidence-based mental health care to their patients while generating sustainable revenue for their practices through CoCM billing, including Medicare and Medicaid populations. FamilyWell is one of the fastest-growing companies in women's behavioral health, currently serving patients across six states with continued national expansion underway. To learn more about FamilyWell, please visit www.familywellhealth.com.

The Opportunity

FamilyWell believes strongly in maintaining a high bar of clinical quality and is seeking a reproductive psychiatrist available as a dedicated clinical resource for our psychiatric nurse practitioner team — supporting complex case consultation, psychopharmacology questions specific to the perinatal and reproductive life stages, and general clinical mentorship, particularly for early-career NPs.

This is a low-hour, high-impact advisory role for a reproductive psychiatrist who wants to support high-quality, accessible mental health care for women without taking on a full clinical caseload.

What You'll Do

  • Provide clinical consultation and mentorship to a panel of nurse practitioners with a combined capacity of up to 7.0 FTE. The panel may include more than seven individual providers, including a mix of W-2 employees and 1099 contractors, provided the total clinical capacity does not exceed 7.0 FTE.
  • Host a regular (weekly or biweekly) group case consultation session for the NP team to discuss complex or higher-acuity cases.
  • Be available for ad hoc, asynchronous consultation on psychopharmacologic questions specific to reproductive psychiatry — e.g., medication management in pregnancy and lactation, postpartum depression and anxiety, perimenopausal and menopausal mood disorders, and bipolar disorder across reproductive transitions.
  • Support onboarding of new NPs with orientation to FamilyWell's reproductive psychiatry clinical protocols and best practices.
  • Contribute clinical expertise to the ongoing development and refinement of FamilyWell's clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Participate as needed in FamilyWell's clinical quality and risk-management processes (e.g., case reviews following an adverse event or escalation).

What We're Looking For

  • MD or DO, board-certified in Psychiatry; additional training, fellowship, or certification in reproductive/perinatal psychiatry strongly preferred.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in Connecticut.
  • Clinical experience treating perinatal, postpartum, and peri/menopause-related mood and anxiety disorders.
  • Comfort with a fully remote, virtual consultation model.
  • Strong communicator who enjoys mentoring and supporting NP-led, team-based care within a collaborative care (CoCM) model.
  • Prior experience supervising or collaborating with PMHNPs strongly preferred.

Engagement Details

  • Engaged as a 1099 independent contractor; this is not an employee role and does not include employee benefits.
  • Estimated time commitment of 1–2 hours per week, with flexible scheduling around your existing practice.
  • Fully remote/virtual.
  • Hourly rate is negotiable and will be discussed based on experience and scope.
  • Initial engagement term to be mutually agreed upon, with the option to renew.

To Apply

Interested candidates should apply with a current CV and a brief note on your experience with reproductive/perinatal psychiatry and interest in supporting a mission-driven women's mental health company.
