Job Title: Inventory Allocation & Batching Associate, Fulfillment

Department: GC Packaging Operations / Finished Goods Warehouse
Schedule: Hourly | Warehouse Operations| Second shift 

 

Position Summary

The Inventory Allocation & Batching Associate, Fulfillment is an hourly warehouse Role, responsible for allocating inventory and creating pick jobs to support daily order fulfillment. This position works within Extensiv to organize orders by workstream, carrier ship method, and customer requirements, ensuring efficient picking, on-time shipment, and accurate inventory flow. The role partners closely with warehouse leadership, floor teams, and shipping to balance workload, meet carrier cutoffs, and support key operational performance metrics.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Create and release pick batches in Extensiv by workstream, carrier ship method (Ground, Express, International, LTL, FTL), and customer, aligned to daily shipping cutoffs and labor capacity.
  • Prioritize batches to support ship-on-time performance, with emphasis on Express, International, and cutoff-driven orders.
  • Allocate inventory using established FIFO and location-based rules to reduce rework, shortages, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Post accurate and timely batch details to the Order Share list, ensuring real-time visibility across all active workstreams.
  • Communicate clearly with each workstream by providing a summarized pull list that includes order count, unit volume, priority level, and special handling requirements.
  • Monitor batch progress throughout the shift and proactively rebalance workload to prevent bottlenecks or missed SLAs.
  • Track and escalate unallocated, unreleased, or overdue orders within Order Management team to minimize fulfillment delays.
  • Identify and report inventory shortages, location errors, or system issues that impact picking efficiency or shipment timelines.

 

Support the Shipping Department as needed by:

  • Assisting with creation of Bills of Lading (BOLs) for LTL and FTL shipments.
  • Performing quality checks (QC) on LTL shipments to confirm pallet count, labels, documentation, and shipment accuracy prior to pickup.
  • Coordinating with shipping leads on carrier and driver scheduling when required to meet pickup windows and delivery commitments.
  • Maintain accurate batch and shipment status updates in Extensiv to support end-of-day closeout and reporting.
  • Support daily and weekly operational goals related to throughput, batch accuracy, ship-complete performance, and on-time pickup.
  • Follow all warehouse safety, quality, and standard operating procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, order fulfillment, or shipping support.
  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System (Extensiv / 3PL Central strongly preferred).
  • Understanding of warehouse workflows including picking, staging, shipping, and carrier handoff.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Excel and comfort working in computer-based systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned schedule.

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Working knowledge of FIFO and location-based inventory allocation strategies.
  • Experience supporting LTL/FTL shipping processes, BOL creation, or carrier coordination.
  • Experience in wholesale or finished goods warehouse operations.
