Role Summary
The Fulfillment and Post Production Operator is responsible for operating post-production and fulfillment equipment used to finish, package, and prepare printed trading cards for shipment. This role involves cutting, sorting, collating, and quality-checking trading cards as they come off the press, as well as packing cards into packs, boxes, and cases, and supporting order fulfillment to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality delivery to customers and collectors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Post Production Operations:
- Inspect finished cards for defects such as misprints, off-center cuts, print lines, or surface damage, and remove non-conforming cards from the production line.
Fulfillment and Packaging:
- Accurately pack trading cards into packs, boxes, and cases according to product specifications and print run sheets.
- Label and organize packaged cases and boxes for distribution, ensuring correct set names, quantities, and destinations.
- Coordinate with the fulfillment team to meet shipping deadlines and order accuracy standards for retail, hobby, and direct-to-collector orders.
Training and Development:
- Assist in onboarding and training new employees on post-production processes, fulfillment procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular quality checks throughout the post-production and packaging process to ensure cards meet company and collector-grade standards.
- Identify and report defects, misprints, or damaged cards, and take corrective action to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in the post-production, sorting, or packaging process and suggest improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Implement approved changes and monitor their effectiveness.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns immediately and assist in troubleshooting.
- Promote and enforce adherence to 5S principles, ensuring that these practices become part of the company culture.
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures when operating machinery and handling materials.
- Support regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate production and fulfillment records, logs, and documentation, including card counts, print run details, and shipment information.
- Assist in scheduling meetings, training sessions, and other events.
Inventory and Resource Management:
- Help ensure that card stock, packaging materials, and supplies needed for post-production and fulfillment are available to meet demand.
- Assist in managing inventory levels of packaging materials and supplies to minimize waste and cost.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in print production, card manufacturing, fulfillment, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, with an eye for identifying print defects on collectible cards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands
Specific eyesight requirements:
- Ability to distinguish between colors.
- Visual acuity to read fine print on documents and screens.
- Depth perception to operate machinery safely.

Standing and Walking:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the print production facility.
- Frequent movement within the production area to supervise and assist team members.
Lifting and Carrying:
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Occasional lifting of heavier items with the assistance of equipment or team members.
Bending, Stooping, and Kneeling:
- Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling to inspect machinery, perform maintenance tasks, and handle materials.
- Flexibility to work in low positions and confined spaces as needed.
Reaching and Handling:
- Frequent reaching overhead and below shoulder level to access materials and operate machinery.
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools accurately.
Pushing and Pulling:
- Ability to push and pull carts, equipment, and materials as needed within the production area.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Regular use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and safety shoes.
- Compliance with all safety protocols and regulations regarding PPE usage.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to a production environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential hazards.
- Tolerance for working in conditions that may include dust, fumes, and strong odors.
Physical Stamina:
- Endurance to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as production demands.
- Ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts and high-pressure situations.
