About the Role

Fanatics is seeking a Director, Product Operations to lead the operating strategy and organizational effectiveness of our Direct-to-Consumer Product organization supporting Fanatics Live and Fanatics Collect.

Partnering closely with the Chief Digital Product Officer, Product leadership, and senior leaders across Engineering, Design, Data, and the business, this role will translate product and business strategy into clear priorities, scalable operating mechanisms, and coordinated execution.

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who can bring structure to complex, ambiguous problems, align senior stakeholders, and build systems that help a growing Product organization operate effectively at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Define and lead the Product Operations strategy and operating model across Fanatics Live and Fanatics Collect.
  • Partner with Product leadership to translate business and product strategy into operating priorities, plans, and mechanisms for execution.
  • Establish and evolve planning and operating cadences, including roadmap reviews, portfolio reviews, leadership forums, and annual and quarterly planning.
  • Maintain an integrated view of product priorities, investments, dependencies, risks, and commitments across multiple product areas.
  • Establish governance and decision-making frameworks that clarify ownership, tradeoffs, escalation paths, and accountability.
  • Lead complex, business-critical programs spanning Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and business teams.
  • Identify systemic execution barriers and organizational friction, and drive senior stakeholders toward scalable solutions.
  • Set standards for core product practices, including planning, roadmaps, prioritization, decision records, and knowledge management.
  • Build and develop Product Operations capability and talent, creating leverage for Product Managers and leaders across the organization.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to senior Product leadership on operating effectiveness, organizational priorities, and execution risk.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive experience in product operations, program management, product management, business operations, or a related leadership role in a technology or digital product organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a Product Operations, Program Management, or comparable capability supporting multiple product and technical teams.
  • Experience partnering with senior and executive leaders to translate strategy into functional plans and organizational execution.
  • Strong understanding of product development, portfolio management, roadmap planning, prioritization, operating models, and cross-functional execution.
  • Track record of designing and implementing scalable operating mechanisms, governance models, and organizational practices.
  • Strong strategic and conceptual problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate issues where objectives, ownership, or solutions are not clearly defined.
  • Exceptional communication and executive-level synthesis skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations, decisions, and actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across teams and seniority levels, reconcile competing perspectives, and lead through others.
  • Experience developing talent and establishing clear accountability for outcomes.
  • A collaborative, low-ego leadership style with a strong bias toward clarity, practical solutions, accountability, and results.

What Success Looks Like

The Digital Product organization operates with a clear, scalable model that enables leaders and teams to translate strategy into results. Product leadership has an integrated view of priorities, dependencies, and risk; cross-functional initiatives have clear accountability and governance; and Product teams have operating mechanisms that improve effectiveness without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.

Ultimately, the Director, Product Operations will create and continuously evolve the operating foundation that enables Fanatics Live and Fanatics Collect to execute against their most important product and business priorities at scale.

The salary range represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.  This salary range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.  When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training. NYC Salary Range

$220,000 - $275,000 USD
