Role Summary

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for leading facilities operations across a multi-building campus that includes manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. This role ensures maximum facility uptime so that people, processes, and equipment operate without interruption. The Facilities Supervisor will provide exceptional leadership to Facilities Technicians while maintaining a hands-on presence in daily maintenance and repair activities.

This position requires a strong bias toward action, speed to execution, a rigorous preventive maintenance program, and uncompromising standards for quality and safety.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Facilities Technicians.
• Establish clear priorities and drive rapid execution of maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Maintain high performance expectations with strong accountability for quality and safety.
• Schedule and allocate resources to ensure timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance.
• Foster a culture of urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Facilities Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee maintenance and repair of manufacturing, warehouse, and office facilities.
• Ensure facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, dock equipment, lighting, etc.) remain fully operational.
• Respond quickly to unplanned downtime or facility-related disruptions.
• Personally perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when required.

Preventive Maintenance & Reliability

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve a robust preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure scheduled PMs are completed on time and documented accurately.
• Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Drive initiatives that improve building reliability, efficiency, and longevity.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and correct hazards immediately.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation for inspections, repairs, and compliance requirements.

Quality & Standards

• Maintain very high standards for workmanship and facility appearance.
• Ensure all repairs meet established quality benchmarks.
• Continuously evaluate facility conditions and proactively address improvement opportunities.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification, vocational training, associate degree, or relevant trade licenses preferred.
• 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, with 2+ years of leadership experience.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems, with experience managing preventive maintenance programs and using CMMS.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities including safety focus, accountability, operational excellence, cost control, team development, and a strong bias for action.
• Extensive safety training with a strong commitment to safe work practices and OSHA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation, and perform necessary calculations.
• Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities with a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency with MS Office, CMMS/BMS systems, and maintenance documentation.
• Effective communication, organizational, and decision-making skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset focused on minimizing downtime and ensuring facility uptime.
• Experience in multi-building campus environments is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is performed across a multi-building campus including manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments, with exposure to industrial conditions such as machinery, noise, temperature variations, and moving equipment.
• Role requires working indoors and outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and around mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders.
• Participation in after-hours, on-call, and emergency response support as needed to ensure facility uptime.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:

• Ability to perform physically demanding work in manufacturing and warehouse environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders.
• Ability to safely use required PPE and effectively identify work process issues and safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.
