Role Summary

Maintain production equipment running.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility and production equipment. 
  2. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures using standard testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques. 
  3. Repair, replace, align, adjust, and install machinery components and equipment. 
  4. Independently perform maintenance work orders with limited supervision. 
  5. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents. 
  6. Conduct equipment inspections to identify wear, safety concerns, and operational deficiencies. 
  7. Perform routine welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed for repairs. 
  8. Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts usage, and completed work documentation within CMMS or maintenance tracking systems. 
  9. Support equipment startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.

 

Safety, Compliance and Responsibilities

  • Comply with OSHA, company safety policies, environmental regulations, and maintenance standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations as required.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities based on operational needs.
  • Coordinate with production, operations, contractors, and other maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain inventory awareness and communicate parts/material needs.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to Jr. Mechanic employees as assigned.
  • Assist in training lower-level mechanics on maintenance procedures and safety practices.
  • Work independently on moderately complex maintenance assignments.

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS

This position also performs other projects for the company as needed.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and sit.  This job also requires close vision at 20 inches or less.  Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 ft. or more), Color Vision (the ability to identify and distinguish colors), Perpipheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust eyes to bring an object into focus).  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Mechanical background with some electrical knowledge.
  3. Cards manufacturing machinery (Slitters / Flow Wrappers / Hot Foil Stamping or related)

 

Skills/Knowledge

  1. Troubleshoot intermediate-level electrical systems, motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, valves, and controls.
  2. Use precision measuring instruments and hand/power tools safely and effectively.
  3. Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all safety protocols.
  4. Assist with equipment modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  5. Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

Environment and Scheduling

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant setting.
  • Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary.
