As we continue to scale our global platform, the Custodial Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in sustaining safe, clean, and operationally excellent facility environments.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Custodial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a full range of janitorial, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, and grounds-keeping tasks across multiple facility locations, ensuring that all work centers operate safely and efficiently. Working under limited supervision across both indoor and outdoor environments, this role requires sustained physical activity, the use of hand and power tools, and strict adherence to company safety standards and operating procedures. The Custodial Maintenance Technician delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

  • Collaborate with facility and operations team members to coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance assignments across multiple buildings, reporting to the correct work center on time for each scheduled shift.
  • Support a positive, inclusive work environment by treating all colleagues with respect and contributing to a culture of shared accountability for facility standards.
  • Partner with department leads to participate in team lifts, extended shift coverage, and seasonal assignments as operational needs require.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facility environments across all work centers, directly supporting the operational infrastructure that enables Fanatics Commerce to serve fans worldwide.
  • Ensure restrooms and common areas are consistently stocked and sanitized, creating a positive experience for all employees and visitors throughout the facility.
  • Monitor and promptly address interior and exterior hazards such as ice, slip risks, and unsanitary conditions to protect the wellbeing of everyone on site.
  • Uphold facility appearance standards through painting touch-ups, grounds maintenance, and general housekeeping, reflecting the Fanatics brand commitment to excellence in every environment.

Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit)

  • Apply continuous improvement and six sigma principles to daily housekeeping and department activities, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce waste.
  • Proactively track and report inventory replenishment needs for cleaning and maintenance supplies, maintaining accurate records to prevent shortfalls before they impact operations.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by rotating across varying facility assignments and seasonal tasks — including snow removal, lawn care, and equipment maintenance — with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Identify and escalate equipment or facility issues identified during routine preventative maintenance rounds to minimize downtime and operational disruption.

Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset)

  • Execute all assigned janitorial, housekeeping, grounds, and preventative maintenance tasks with consistency and attention to detail, adhering to all department and company standards, operating procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain current certifications including Bloodborne Pathogens and Lock Out-Tag Out procedures, completing required annual training without exception.
  • Correctly identify, don, and use all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) — including eye protection, hearing protection, chemical-resistant gloves, heat-resistant gloves, and safety-toed footwear — in accordance with work-center and hazardous material handling guidelines.
  • Operate independently with limited supervision, managing time and task sequencing across multiple buildings and shift schedules while remaining available for extended hours and weekend coverage as needed.

CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, including shift schedules, safety procedures, and preventative maintenance documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay on task and work effectively with limited supervision across multiple facility locations.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate a wide variety of hand and power tools used in custodial, painting, grounds, and maintenance activities.
  • Valid driver's license and personal transportation required to travel between plant locations.
  • Ability to count accurately and perform simple math functions in support of inventory tracking and preventative maintenance recordkeeping.
  • Current or ability to obtain Bloodborne Pathogens certification; familiarity with Lock Out-Tag Out procedures or willingness to complete required annual training.
  • Physical capability to lift 25 lbs. independently, participate in team lifts of 50 lbs., stand and walk for an entire shift, and perform activities including crouching, crawling, climbing, bending, reaching, and pushing a cart; comfortable with ladder use and working in warm, humid, high-noise, and chemically exposed environments.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

The salary range represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
