Director, Consumer PR & Communications Fanatics Betting & Gaming

Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is redefining how fans engage with the moments they care about, from sports betting and live casino to prediction markets and beyond. Our ecosystem spans Fanatics Sportsbook, Fanatics Markets, Fanatics Casino, and the Fanatics App, and we're building something that's never existed at this scale before. There's no playbook to copy.

We're looking for a stellar consumer communications leader to help tell the stories that put FBG's products at the center of sports culture, internet moments, and fan obsession. This role owns the earned media and influencer narrative across our full consumer portfolio — finding the angles, building the relationships, and creating the moments that make fans pay attention.

Reporting to the VP, Brand Communications, the ideal candidate is on top of emerging trends, experienced landing earned coverage across both traditional press and new media, and genuinely excited to take calculated risks in a regulated industry. You're a cultural observer first, a strategic communicator second, and someone who moves fast without sacrificing judgment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and lead a consumer communications strategy that builds awareness, drives product adoption, and shapes how fans think and talk about Fanatics Sportsbook, Fanatics Markets, Fanatics Casino, and the Fanatics App.
  • Tell the story of FBG's innovation, from how we're changing the way fans bet and predict, to the experiences only Fanatics can offer at the intersection of sports, culture, and commerce.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with consumer, sports, tech, lifestyle, and creator press to build credibility and secure meaningful coverage that reinforces FBG's position as the most fan-forward platform in the space.
  • Proactively insert FBG's brands into cultural and sports conversations, identifying real-time moments and translating them into earned media and creator-led visibility before the window closes.
  • Use data storytelling, trend reports, partnerships, and cultural insights to create campaigns and moments that spark conversation with key audiences.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Legal, and Compliance to align storytelling with business priorities across all four products.
  • Build and maintain distinct but cohesive narratives for each product, ensuring each has its own voice while reinforcing the strength of the broader Fanatics ecosystem.
  • Define KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure what's working across media, influencer, and campaign efforts.
  • Build foundational communications infrastructure: messaging frameworks, media strategy, creator playbooks, with a startup mindset inside a scaled company.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of PR or communications experience, ideally within consumer tech, sports, gaming, entertainment, or marketplace businesses.
  • Deep experience shaping consumer narratives for fast-moving brands, with a proven track record of driving awareness and cultural relevance through earned media.
  • Strong media relationships across sports, consumer, lifestyle, and tech outlets both traditional and new.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills; you can turn data, launches, and platform moments into stories people actually want to read.
  • Demonstrated fluency in sports, entertainment, and internet culture — you know what will land, what won't, and why timing is everything.
  • Experience building communications for a new product or category where you created the frameworks rather than inherited them.
  • Low ego, high ownership; comfortable getting in the weeds and delivering results as part of a collaborative, fast-moving team.
  • Strong judgment in regulated environments; you know how to be creative and bold within the right guardrails.
  • Comfortable managing multiple products, priorities, and workstreams simultaneously without losing the thread.
  • Open to regular travel to events and Fanatics offices for offsites and team meetings.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
