Fanatics Credit Card sits at the intersection of financial technology and sports fandom. We are building a first-of-its-kind credit card and rewards platform that lets fans earn and redeem points across the entire Fanatics ecosystem — from jerseys and trading cards to live events and sports betting. Our mission is to deepen fan engagement through financial products that feel as exciting as game day.

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Fanatics Credit Card, you will be a key technical leader helping architect, build, and scale the platform powering our card program and rewards experience. You'll work across the full stack - from crafting elegant, performant frontend experiences to designing robust, low-latency backend services - and play a critical role in shaping engineering culture and technical direction on a high-growth team.

We are one team; we employ the principles of data-driven development, operational excellence, and engineering rigor to deliver a stable, extensible platform at scale. If you have strong opinions on software design, love building things that matter to millions of fans, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, test, document, and deploy high-quality frontend and backend services that power the Fanatics Credit Card platform and rewards engine
  • Contribute to architectural decisions across the stack, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term scalability
  • Build and iterate on customer-facing experiences using modern frontend frameworks, ensuring performance, accessibility, and responsiveness
  • Design and implement scalable and event-driven APIs that integrate with partners and vendors and the broader Fanatics ecosystem
  • Own features end-to-end - from requirements refinement and technical scoping through production deployment and post-launch monitoring
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to early-career engineers; participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to craft elegant solutions and deliver customer-centric outcomes
  • Champion observability best practices - logging, metrics, alerting - to ensure the reliability and performance of production systems
  • Contribute to the on-call rotation and take ownership of the systems you build
  • Stay current on fintech, payments, and frontend/backend technology trends to continuously raise the bar on what we build

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise across both frontend and backend development
  • Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks, particularly React (TypeScript preferred), with a strong grasp of state management, component design, and web performance
  • Strong backend engineering skills in one or more of: Java, Node.js, Go, or Python, with experience building production-grade, distributed services
  • Deep experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, SQS)
  • Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB) and data modeling best practices
  • Experience working in AWS or similar cloud environments; comfort with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proven ability to lead technical design, write clear technical specs, and drive consensus across engineering and product stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented design, design patterns, testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E), and CI/CD
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable operating in an environment where the roadmap evolves quickly, requirements are sometimes ambiguous, and the decisions you make today will form the foundation others build on for years. You default to action, communicate trade-offs clearly, and know when to move fast vs. when to slow down and get it right
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS compliance requirements and security best practices for financial data
  • Contributions to platform architecture, developer tooling, or engineering process improvements
  • Familiarity with integrating LLM-powered features or AI-driven services into production applications - whether for personalization, fraud signals, customer support automation, or intelligent recommendations - and an interest in exploring how these capabilities can enhance the credit card and rewards experience
  • Actively using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate delivery and improve code quality; thoughtful about where AI assistance adds leverage and where human judgment is non-negotiable
  • Proven ability to pivot between problem domains, pick up unfamiliar technologies quickly, and contribute meaningfully across layers of the stack as team and product needs shift. You don't need a fully defined lane to do great work

If you possess some of these qualifications but not all of them, we still encourage you to apply!

Depending on the role, your interview and onboarding experience may include in-person components, such as onsite interviews or Launching into Better: LIVE—a multi-day cultural immersion in New York City for full-time, non-seasonal hires. These sessions are designed to build connection and bring our culture to life, though specific travel and participation requirements will be confirmed based on your role and location. Your recruiter will provide clear guidance at each stage of the process.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
