Job Summary

We’re looking for a sports-obsessed, internet-native Social & Community Specialist to help grow and deepen Fanatics Sports & Casino’s presence across the social community forums where sports fans spend their time.

This role will serve as a key member of the Organic Social team, with a focus on Discord, Reddit, X, Facebook Groups, and other emerging community platforms. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management, moderation, programming, and participation that turn audiences into active communities.

As Fanatics brings sportsbook, prediction markets, and casino together in one all-in-one experience, you’ll help develop a holistic community strategy that gives fans more reasons to engage with the brand beyond individual products or campaigns.

You’ll be equal parts community operator, social programmer, moderator, and sports fan — identifying conversations worth joining, creating programming that gets people talking, and bringing valuable insights back to the broader business.

What You’ll Do

  • Own day-to-day community programming across Discord, Reddit, X, Facebook Groups, and other relevant community spaces.
  • Develop and maintain an always-on community calendar spanning conversations, recurring programs, activations, AMAs, giveaways, cultural moments, and sports tentpoles.
  • Be an active and authentic participant in online sports communities, joining conversations rather than simply broadcasting content.
  • Moderate and manage Fanatics-owned communities, helping establish a welcoming, engaging, and distinctly Fanatics voice.
  • Identify emerging conversations, trends, memes, fan behaviors, and community moments and turn them into timely programming and content opportunities.
  • Develop community-first tactics to support major sports moments, campaigns, product launches, promotions, and tentpole events.
  • Create recurring community franchises and experiences that give fans a reason to return and participate.
  • Serve as a bridge between Fanatics and the sports community, surfacing fan sentiment, feedback, trends, and product opportunities to internal teams.
  • Partner with the broader Organic Social team to translate community conversations and insights into content across social platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Brand, Product, CRM, VIP, Responsible Gaming, and other teams to incorporate community perspectives into broader initiatives.
  • Track community health, engagement, growth, and participation and use those insights to continuously improve programming.
  • Help identify and test new platforms, communities, and emerging opportunities where Fanatics Sports & Casino can authentically participate.

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years of experience in social media, community management, social programming, or a related field, preferably within sports, sports betting, gaming, entertainment, or media.
  • Hands-on experience managing or growing communities across platforms such as Discord, Reddit, X, Facebook Groups, or similar online communities.
  • A deep understanding of sports culture, sports fans, betting culture, internet culture, and how communities behave online.
  • A strong instinct for what makes people participate in a conversation — and the ability to turn that instinct into compelling community programming.
  • Experience with social moderation, community guidelines, escalation processes, and managing conversations in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to adapt the brand voice to different platforms and communities.
  • A proactive, highly collaborative approach and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple community programs, conversations, and initiatives simultaneously.
  • A genuine passion for sports and a 24/7 curiosity about what fans are talking about online.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events, activations, and team offsites.
  • Must be comfortable working nights, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed around major sporting events and tentpoles.
