This is an opportunity to apply strong credit judgment and analytical expertise while gaining exposure to sophisticated agricultural and commercial lending transactions.
Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform financial analysis, underwriting, credit administration, monitoring, and due diligence for assigned commercial and agricultural credit relationships, including participation, direct, official, and excess loans.
- Analyze borrower financial statements, cash flow, repayment capacity, collateral, industry conditions, transaction structures, and risk trends to assess creditworthiness and portfolio risk.
- Support the structuring, evaluation, negotiation, and closing of complex credits, including large loans, participations, correspondent lending relationships, and other specialized transactions.
- Monitor assigned loan and participation relationships to identify emerging risks, performance trends, covenant concerns, servicing needs, and other matters requiring attention or escalation.
- Prepare clear, well-supported credit analyses, underwriting documents, portfolio summaries, and recommendations for Credit leadership and other stakeholders.
- Partner with the Lending Team and Credit leadership in the analysis, servicing, reporting, and ongoing management of the Bank’s loan participations and related portfolio activity.
- Work with Farm Credit associations to communicate and provide guidance regarding sound lending practices, credit policies, financial analysis, and portfolio considerations.
- Help research and resolve legal, title, collateral, documentation, and other credit-related matters that arise during underwriting, servicing, or transaction execution.
- Support the development and maintenance of loan participation and correspondent banking relationships with other lenders and financial institutions.
- Develop industry, peer group, portfolio, and other credit analyses to support lending decisions, portfolio oversight, and special projects.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of lending programs, operating procedures, portfolio management practices, and credit-related initiatives.

- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, forecasting models, cash flow budgets, collateral analysis, appraisal standards, and payment performance related to agricultural production loans, mortgage loans, and commercial credits.
- Ability to identify, measure, monitor, and manage risk within individual credits, loan portfolios, and direct lending relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience in Farm Credit, agricultural finance, commercial banking, or another regulated financial services environment is preferred.
