Position Summary

We are seeking a strong leader that can help lead all functional responsibilities of the day to day warehouse, drivers and production operations of their local site in Olive Branch, MS. Strong team building with experience managing permanent and seasonal temporary employees in a high volume setting and the ability to effectively use data and KPIs to monitor and manage their operations are a must. Demonstrated ability to execute at the tactical level while also finding scalable process improvements that can be implemented at a strategic and higher level. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead salaried, hourly, temporary and permanent employees with an uncompromising focus on safety and awareness of their role in bringing value to our farmer customers.
  • This role is responsible in helping establish the operating standard, aligning the roles within their area to the standards, and to help improve the operating standards.
  • This is also a production site and this role supports the implementation of SOPs and best practices to enhance safety,  production attainment and quality standards 
  • Implement,  maintain and continue to improve site safety, quality and culture through active upkeep and implementation of 5S standards and other Lean applications. 
  • Establish and meet production KPIs and metrics related to the performance and efficiency of the production asset in Olive Branch, MS. 
  • Responsible for the continuous balancing and rebalancing of warehouse, driver and production staff & equipment resources to ensure warehouse and production output meets or exceeds the requirements of the daily plan and attainment is being met. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining capacity planning assumptions in conjunction with procurement, planning, manufacturing operations, logistics/warehousing and commercial teams, including yield, line capacity, scrap rates, and holiday planning.
  • Work closely with Supply Planner to ensure adequate and timely raw materials coverage for the production schedule including communication of materials consumption/inventory reporting to the Supply Planner & finished goods production output to the Production Manager. 
  • Lead the changeover process, scheduled maintenance, and other proactive tasks to insure the integrity of the equipment for the production line. 
  • Leads by example and acts as a role model to the team members onsite, in addition to peers across the Fulfillment organization & all teams within FBN
  • Maintains a servant leadership focus through the fostering of growth, coaching, training, and development of our front line team members
  • Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes and key performance indicators across the network.
  • Ensure that inventory is handled and recorded in line with all hazardous material, MSDS and manufacturer specifications. 
  • Inspect and maintain facilities partnering with corporate facilities management as appropriate.  
  • Partner with Capacity planning in the efficient usage of storage space and the development of labor models for dictating staffing needs.
  • Partner with Transportation to ensure timely routing, shipping and receiving of orders and inventory.
  • Coach, Develop and train an array of skilled employees including material handlers, forklift operators, P&D Drivers, OTR drivers and ensure that all employees have appropriate training, resources, certifications, managerial support and guidance
  • Nurture direct reports to succeed in their current roles, grow into future roles, and access skills or training relevant to their personal or professional growth
  • Manage operations in line with all supporting systems (WMS, TMS and ERP) to ensure virtual/physical alignment.
  • Ideal candidate will be able to understand, and speak to all elements of their business or projects they have in both formal and informal presentation formats
  • A successful candidate will have the experience to help guide the operation through formal policy and procedure creation, but will be able to roll up their sleeves and develop many elements of this in collaboration with other teams or at times, as a sole contributor.
  • Uses Subjective, Objective, Convergent and Divergent means of analysis to understand the physical operation in collaboration with the many data sources across FBN.
  • Where required, operate forklift, pallet jack and ability to run production line
  • Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance or related field preferred or equivalent experience 
  • 4 years of experience in a Distribution Center / Warehousing / Production environment in a leadership role.
  • Able to work flexible hours to match seasonal needs including some weekend work as needed during peak 
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be able to travel occasionally as needed for training or support at other sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Hazardous Material Handling and/or professional Supply Chain organizations. 
  • Forklift qualification and abilities
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and RF scanning 
  • Lean Management, Six Sigma Training or other Supply Chain Certifications (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD).

The following represents FBN's reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $73,000-$92,000. This salary range may vary based on geography and the higher cost of labor in some metropolitan areas.
