Position Summary
FBN Direct is a rapidly growing transaction platform serving farmers by providing crop protection products and a variety of other inputs directly to farmers. FBN Direct offers an industry-changing, independent, and unbiased way for farmers to purchase their crop inputs. We emphasize superior value through a seamless transaction process that delivers products directly to the farm.
Job Description Overview: The Sr Demand Planning Analyst for FBN’s global direct organization will create demand plans for FBN Direct’s crop protection category with a high degree of planning complexity. You will use data and analytics for inputs, statistical forecasting tools and collaboration with commercial teams to create a detailed and targeted view of what
our customers need. The Sr Demand Planning Analyst is the integration point into the sales and commercial organization. This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement and Production and Network and Inventory Planning.The ideal candidate for this position is someone who can handle large sets of data and collaborate with others to create a robust demand plan, enabling effective financial planning and execution throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect past & future demand factors (distribution gains/losses, price changes, new/discontinued products and promotion plans, for example) from sales and marketing and forecast/model their impacts on demand.
- Interact with sales, marketing, and operations to understand and interpret the potential impact market trends and demand drivers can have on demand, and adjust the statistical forecast to reflect those impacts.
- Become a systems expert in FBN’s technical stack to provide best in class forecasting models and assumptions (R, Python, SQL, Tableau, ERP software, MRP software, Salesforce or other sales forecasting processes)
- Create and maintain accurate demand plans and navigate both the short-term and long-term horizons, including for new and discontinued items and promotional demand.
- Continuously improve results by enhancing the forecasting process and use of machine learning models, and focusing meticulously on forecast accuracy and areas of improvement.
- Participate in sales and operations planning (S&OP), working to meet key performance indicators.
- Work with business unit leadership to generate unconstrained and constrained demand plans
- Assist in development of annual plans and reconcile them with monetized demand plans and communicate any gaps between the plans.
- Shape the decisions of key partners in marketing, sales and finance, and address input gaps as identified by forecast error, bias and volatility review and other means. ● Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5 years of demand planning or related experience; or 9 years of demand planning or related experience.
- Experience with Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes
- Experience with statistical forecasting tools (R and/or Python, Arima/other time series forecasting models)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field plus 7 years of demand planning experience

- The ideal candidate for this position has strong analytical skills, and can work with data to identify patterns and use good judgment to form conclusions and challenge the status quo.
- This person should have great relationship management skills and have the ability to build trust amongst key stakeholders.
- Problem solving and the ability to identify, analyze and solve problems for the FBN Direct crop protection category will be a critical component of this position.
