Renewable Energy Civil Engineer

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Renewable Energy Civil Engineer in our St. Louis, MO or Denver, CO offices.  In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on a wide variety of projects for renewable energy clients.  Types of projects include solar, battery storage (BESS), and wind projects as well as other projects within the Renewable Energy industry.  Project tasks may include, but are not limited to, site layout, grading, access road design, stormwater/drainage studies, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.  Work encompasses entire projects, including the initial due diligence phase through conceptual/preliminary design phases, and all the way through the final design, construction, and record drawing phases. What You’ll Do:

  • Provide civil engineering technical support and design for the development of renewable energy projects (conceptual through final design and construction), as part of an engineering team
  • Prepare, develop, and review civil engineering design and construction plans and related documents
  • Provide project management working directly with the Client’s project manager
  • Manage, support, and build relationships with clients and agencies
  • Conduct project field observation and condition assessments
  • Prepare project proposals
  • Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and consultants
  • Communicate with clients regarding current and future projects

What You’ll Need:

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
  • 5-10 years of civil engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience in solar, BESS, wind or similar renewable energy projects preferred
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience required
  • Design experience on wind, solar and/or BESS projects preferred
  • Ability and willingness to manage and contribute to several projects concurrently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Ability to travel and have a valid driver’s license

Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

$90,000 - $130,000 USD
