ROLE OVERVIEW
The TOP Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire process of checking TOP samples for construction, quality, and compliance with FN standards. The TOP Manager will lead the TOP team to ensure all TOPs are processed efficiently and any issues are promptly communicated to the relevant stakeholders, including buyers and vendors. This role requires strategic oversight to manage the volume of styles and ensure daily quotas are met by the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the TOP team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure the team meets daily quotas and maintains high-quality standards.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of the TOP coordinators.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance metrics, address challenges, and set goals.
- Oversee the review of TOP samples across all categories, ensuring garments meet construction, quality, and fit standards.
- Ensure that all garments are free from flaws in fabric, print, or sewing construction.
- Supervise the checking of samples against product descriptions using the Product Reviewer program.
- Manage the measurement process of samples, ensuring accuracy in inseams, HPS lengths, etc., as per product specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all labeling and packaging requirements, such as barcodes, poly bags, RN numbers, Prop65, and style numbers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding TOP sample issues or statuses, maintaining effective communication via email, phone, or in person.
- Collaborate with buyers and the compliance department to resolve any discrepancies or approval needs.
- Implement and maintain efficient processes for reviewing and approving TOP samples, ensuring timely completion.
- Oversee the updating of web content with accurate fiber content, construction details, and disclaimers.
- Manage the organization and maintenance of the TOP/Core library, ensuring easy access and proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance of childrenswear, cosmetics, accessories, and shoes with company standards.
- Work closely with the Quality Control department, providing support and cross-functional assistance as needed.
- Lead cross-training initiatives to ensure team versatility and capability in handling various tasks.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Apparel Industry Management, Apparel Technical Design, Production, Product Development, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in a managerial role within Apparel Pre-Production, Quality Assurance, and Product Integrity.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within fashion design, production, or quality control.
- Proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
- Strong time-management, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and via email.
- In-depth knowledge of garment fit, construction, and specifications.
- Attention to detail and intermediate fabric knowledge.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve high standards of quality and efficiency.
