ROLE OVERVIEW
The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, tax planning, and financial reporting for Fashion Nova. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional who can navigate complex tax issues, optimize tax strategies, and ensure timely and accurate filings. The Tax Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and legal, to support the company's tax function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage external service providers on sales/use tax compliance to ensure timely accurate reporting and remittance.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and responses.
- Work with external providers on the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including sales and use tax, income tax, and franchise tax.
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiency.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to assess the impact of new tax laws and regulations on the company.
- Develop and implement tax strategies that align with Fashion Nova’s business objectives.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants to ensure best practices in tax compliance.
- Assist in tax accounting and reporting processes.
- Support transfer pricing compliance and international tax matters as needed.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax changes and assess their implications for the company.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams regarding tax policies and procedures.
- Work on special projects as needed to improve tax related operations.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax research tools, ERP systems, and tax preparation software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- English, additional language(s) an advantage
