The Position: 

The Senior Sales Engineer partners with clients, FastSpring’s sales team, and internal stakeholders to support the sales cycle and lead new store implementations. This role is critical from pre-sales through site launch and the transition to operations and client success. The Senior Sales Engineer delivers clear, effective product demonstrations to both technical and non-technical audiences, communicates project status throughout the organization, and continuously improves the new client implementation experience.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Pre-Sales and Implementation and is based in Dublin, Ireland. Remote initially, possibly moving to a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical sales presentations, design, and/or integration discussions in support of priority sales and business development opportunities.  
  • Serves as a liaison between Sales and Product, with the purpose of removing technology-related buying objections from prospects.  
  • Independently lead and coordinate all aspects of the client’s technical product evaluations, from integrating with FastSpring’s platform to helping prospective customers interpret data in the context of their environments.  
  • Architect and demonstrate seamless integrations between FastSpring and client systems.  
  • Lead integration of advanced FastSpring e-commerce services in support of optimizing top strategic accounts.  
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction with the customer's implementation experience.  
  • Prepare and present technical proposals and RFIs/RFP responses.  
  • Involved in determining the root cause of customer issues and assisting in corrective action.  
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to ensure all aspects of the sale are aligned. 
  • Assists in generating new business and ensures growth of existing accounts. 
  • Provides technical training to clients and communicates customer feedback for future product developments.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting SaaS, web application, or eCommerce technologies.
  • Strong front-end web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) required; experience with SPA frameworks (React, Vue) a (+).
  • Experience with back-end technologies and APIs (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP); ability to support and integrate APIs.
  • Deep eCommerce domain knowledge, including checkout flows, payments, fulfillment, DRM, and analytics.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Technical Support, or Development), engaging both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, able to manage priorities, coordinate complex meetings, and operate effectively with broad direction.
  • Proven problem-solver with a calm, customer-focused mindset, able to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript Required; React or Vue (+)
  • Back-end / APIs: Node.js, Python, PHP; Postman or similar tools.
  • eCommerce & Analytics: Payment gateways, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager
  • Productivity & Collaboration: Google Workspace
  • Business & Engineering Tools (nice to have): Salesforce, Gong, Jira, Confluence, Looker

Bonus Experience!

  • Payments industry experience
  • Familiarity with consultative sales methodologies (e.g., Selling Through Curiosity)
