Job Summary
The Communications Intern will become a part of the FC Cincinnati Communications & Content team during the 2025 season. This position will hone communications, media and public relations and writing skills, and it requires an upbeat attitude, a commitment to learning and improving, and a willingness to help where needed. The Communications Intern will assist the FC Cincinnati Communications staff both on an FC Cincinnati matchday and in the days and weeks leading up to a match. This role is primarily based at our Mercy Health Training Facility in Milford during the week and at TQL Stadium during matches. This role will work on average 20 hours per week from February to December.
What You’ll Do:
Part of a multiple-person team, a successful candidate will assist the Communications Staff throughout the 2025 season with the following key job functions:
- Writer and Editor: Assist the Communications Staff with the multitude of written materials produced by the department throughout the season, including press releases and recaps. Serve as a copy editor for the written materials. Work with cross-departments, both on the technical side and in the front office, throughout the organization to gather information for the written pieces. Work closely to enlarge the output of written materials regarding the FC Cincinnati Academy. Collect and quickly transcribe selected and useful quotes from press conferences and locker room media availability promptly and accurately.
- Sports Information Assistant: Assist the Communications Staff with the research and distribution of notes, statistics, and information regarding FC Cincinnati. Assist with game notes dispersed for every FC Cincinnati match, home or away, to be distributed internally and externally to media and broadcast teams.
- Press Operations Assistant: Assist the Communications Staff with press operations including assisting with media access during training sessions. Assist with the production, setup, and breakdown of press conferences. On game days, ensure proper media compliance at TQL Stadium for photographers, videographers and written press. Troubleshoot as needed, working with the club’s Communications staff to solve issues related to media check-in and accreditation.
- Corporate Communications: Assist the Communications Staff with the multitude of written materials produced and needed to publicize the club’s efforts on the corporate side
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Communications and Communications staff related to weekly and matchday operations.

- Always represent the club in ethical and professional manners
- Fast typing and proofreading/editing skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and email platforms
Work Hours
This position will work 20 hours per week (including gamedays). Days and hours will be managed by the Manager of Communications, and will be subject to FC Cincinnati’s MLS, MLS NEXT Pro and Academy game schedule. This position will have office time at the Mercy Health Training Center in Milford, Ohio, as well as TQL Stadium.
