Job Summary

The Accountant I reports to the Director, Accounting and plays a key role in managing core operational accounting activities for multiple FC Cincinnati subsidiaries. This position is responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting compliance with GAAP standards. Key responsibilities include managing general ledger activity, revenue recognition, multi-entity reporting, and preparing for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes. The Accountant I will also assist with banking operations, balance sheet reconciliations, external audit preparation, and league-required financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a proactive mindset and a commitment to excellence. What You’ll Do:

  • Manage daily accounting functions including all aspects of General Ledger, A/P and A/R, revenue recognition and multi-company reporting for multiple FC Cincinnati subsidiaries
  • Monitor and manage all banking functions and bank accounts including assisting in bank/debt reporting requirements
  • Organize, plan and review month, quarter and year-end financial closing processes in accordance with GAAP including reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage and review all balance sheet schedules and record monthly journal entries
  • Ensure all entries are recorded and reconciled on a timely basis to support efficient and accurate close process and reporting
  • Plan and work with department staff to ensure preparation and readiness for external audit
  • Assist with all league reporting including annual financial package and event revenue reporting
  • Work with Director of Accounting to review, reconcile and consolidate financials for multiple entities

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience required
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting
  • Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite software, a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
