Journeyman CWB Welder

Job Summary

FDI Services Inc. is currently seeking a Journeyperson CWB Welder for our City of Edmonton Waste Management Centre Facility in Edmonton, AB. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely executing Welding duties in a facilities maintenance setting. 

Responsibilities

• Develop patterns for projects or follow directions in given layouts, blueprints, and work orders.
• Cleans, checks for defects and shapes component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch.
• Welds parts and may also build up worn parts by welding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Excellent problem-solving skills required.
• Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
• Successful candidates are required to have a valid Alberta driver’s license and provide a 5-year clean driver’s abstract.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work for a long duration of time.
• Must be able to perform duties at heights.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to complete all pre-access training as identified prior to mobilization.

Trade Certification Requirements

• Welder Journeyperson certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.
• CWB SMAW – All Positions Certified

Position Information

• Located at the City of Edmonton Waste Management Facility
• 12 hours of work per day
• 4/4 Rotation Schedule
• Full Time
