React Native Full Stack Engineer (with AWS IoT Experience)
Position Overview:
We’re seeking a talented React Native Full Stack Engineer with experience using IoT services within AWS. You will play a key role in designing and maintaining iOS/Android mobile app experiences that enable Fellow’s connected coffee products.
You will work on both the frontend (React Native) and backend (AWS IoT/node.js) to create magical user experiences while ensuring the robustness and security of our IoT products.
This position is required to be in the Bay Area as this is a hybrid position, 3 days in our San Francisco office each week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain Mobile Applications: Build, maintain, and optimize cross-platform mobile applications using React Native.
- Full Stack Development: Integrate mobile applications with backend services, primarily utilizing AWS services like AWS IoT, Lambda, API Gateway, and PostgreSQL.
- AWS IoT Integration: Architect, design, and implement IoT solutions on AWS, ensuring smooth communication between devices and the mobile interface, while maintaining data security and scalability.
- API Development: Design and develop APIs for data interaction between mobile apps, IoT devices, and cloud services.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and embedded engineers to deliver features and improvements in an Agile environment.
- Testing and Debugging: Write unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality and reliable code. Debug and optimize performance across the stack.
- DevOps and CI/CD: Participate in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment and integration of new code.
- Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest trends and best practices in React Native, IoT, and cloud technologies, contributing to continuous improvement in our tech stack.
- Work closely with the Hardware Engineering, Product Management and Program Management Office (PMO) to develop resource plans and program schedules.
- Understand the latest architecture approaches in secure IoT device provisioning and management for consumer hardware. Make continued recommendations to evolve our designs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in full stack development with a focus on mobile applications.
- 2+ years of experience with React Native, with a proven track record of shipping cross-platform applications.
- Experience with AWS services, particularly AWS IoT, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
- Strong knowledge of Node.js, Express.js, or other backend technologies.
- Proficiency in cloud architecture and serverless technologies.
- Experience in developing and integrating APIs, especially in IoT contexts.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of MQTT protocols and message brokers (like AWS IoT Core).
- Experience interfacing with resource constrained embedded systems.
- Knowledge of mobile app deployment processes for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000
