Veterinary Technician - Cardiology
Friendship Hospital for Animals is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic Cardiology team!
About the role:
As a Cardiology Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting our board-certified cardiologists with a wide variety of advanced diagnostics and procedures. You’ll assist with anesthetized and sedated cardiac procedures, including echocardiograms, ECGs, thoracic radiographs, and interventional cardiology. You will be responsible for patient monitoring, equipment maintenance, patient recovery, and client communication.

Essential Functions
- Support the cardiology team with advanced diagnostics including echocardiography, ECG, Holter monitoring, blood pressure evaluation, and radiographs
- Assist with and monitor anesthesia for sedated and anesthetized patients during interventional cardiology procedures
- Prepare patients for procedures, including catheterization
- Accurately calculate and administer anesthetic and cardiac medications
- Maintain cardiology equipment and ensure cleanliness and readiness of procedural areas
- Document and input medical records accurately
- Attend daily rounds and communicate effectively across departments
- Participate in technician training and mentorship when needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Credentialed technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a veterinary technician
- Proficient in medical math
- Prior experience in cardiology or specialty medicine is preferred
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Fear Free Certification is a plus
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for long periods
