Impact In This Role

Role Overview

The Sales Administration Manager leads the sales support function responsible for enabling the sales organization to operate efficiently and execute revenue-generating activities at scale. This role oversees a team of Sales Administrators and Coordinators who manage critical administrative processes including quoting, order management, contract processing, and sales documentation.

The Sales Administration Manager ensures operational excellence across the quote-to-order lifecycle, improves internal processes, and acts as a key liaison between Sales, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Customer teams. The role is both people leadership and operational leadership, responsible for building a high-performing support team that enables the sales organization to focus on revenue generation.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10+ Sales Administrators, Coordinators, and Order Specialists.
  • Establish clear roles, performance expectations, and service level agreements (SLAs) for the sales administration function.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop team members to build a high-performing, customer-oriented support organization.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, career development planning, and ongoing coaching.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and responsiveness to sales teams.
  • Manage team capacity and workload distribution to ensure timely support for the sales organization.

Sales Operations & Process Management

  • Own and optimize key sales administrative processes, including quoting, order entry, pricing approvals, contract documentation, and deal processing.
  • Implement standardized processes to improve sales productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain sales policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Order Management & Deal Execution

  • Oversee the quote-to-order process, ensuring deals are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Review complex transactions to ensure compliance with pricing guidelines, discount policies, and margin targets.
  • Coordinate with Finance on billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition alignment.
  • Resolve deal processing issues that could delay revenue recognition or customer delivery.

Sales Team Enablement

  • Serve as the primary administrative support partner to Sales leadership and account teams.
  • Ensure sales teams have access to standardized contracts, proposals, and documentation templates.
  • Support large or strategic deals requiring complex administrative coordination.
  • Act as an escalation point for operational issues impacting the sales organization.

Data, Systems & Reporting

  • Ensure high levels of CRM and sales system data integrity.
  • Maintain accurate records for orders, contracts, and customer information.
  • Support reporting on sales performance, pipeline management, and operational KPIs.
  • Partner with Sales Operations or RevOps to improve systems and workflows.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the operational bridge between Sales, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Customer Success teams.
  • Ensure seamless handoffs between sales, fulfillment, and customer onboarding.
  • Support compliance requirements and internal audits related to sales transactions.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years experience in Sales Operations, Sales Administration, or Commercial Operations.
  • 3–5+ years experience managing and developing teams.
  • Experience supporting high-volume sales organizations.

Skills

  • Strong people leadership and team development
  • Process improvement and operational management
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to the Senior Director of Emerging Accounts.
