Thermal Engineering Intern

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.

We are looking for a Thermal Engineering Intern to support the thermal design of humanoid robots.

Responsibilities:

• Build high fidelity thermal model of actuators
• Build reduced order thermal model of actuators
• Design and validate cooling solutions for actuation systems

Requirements:

• Minimum 12 weeks internship, 1 to 2 terms preferred
• Strong fundamentals of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
• Fluent with commercial CFD tools
• Graduating in 2025 or 2026 with a BS, MS or PhD

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with Icepak or FLOEFD
