VP of Product Marketing (Austin, TX)

Austin, TX
📍 Location: Austin, TX (in-office, alongside CEO & CRO)
💼 Type: Full-time, Executive Leadership
💰 Compensation: World-class executive pay + equity + premium benefits

Few marketing leaders ever get to step into a role where the foundation is already this strong. Files.com is beloved by customers, with nearly 250 glowing reviews on G2, the highest ratings in our category, and a reputation as the easiest platform to use. Our story is already resonating — IT leaders trust us, adoption is growing, and our customers are among the world’s most recognizable brands.

As VP of Product Marketing, your mandate isn’t to fix what’s broken — it’s to amplify what’s already working. You’ll take a company with exceptional customer trust and translate that love into messaging, campaigns, and positioning that deepen loyalty and expand our reach into the enterprise.

At most companies, product marketing is surface-level — a few taglines, some battlecards, and a slide deck. Not here. At Files.com, product marketing is strategy at the core of growth. The VP of Product Marketing owns how we tell our story: messaging, positioning, and competitive narrative. This isn’t branding fluff — it’s about precision, clarity, and credibility with enterprise IT buyers who demand real substance.

You’ll also join a leadership team where marketing is already understood and respected at the highest levels. Our CEO is both an engineer and a marketer with a B2C growth background. Our CRO is a seasoned messaging expert who has implemented the Force Management framework many times over. You won’t be fighting for attention — you’ll be working shoulder-to-shoulder with leaders who speak your language and expect excellence.

This is a career-defining role: a VP seat in a profitable, private equity–backed SaaS company, where you’ll sit in our Austin HQ alongside the CEO and CRO every day, shaping Files.com’s voice at the highest level.

Who We Are

We’re Files.com, a profitable, founder-led SaaS company powering secure file transfer and automation for 4,000+ global brands you know: Target, Canonical, UPS, Leica, DirecTV, GoPro, Marriott, and more.

We’ve built a $35M+ business with just 70 people by hiring smart, high-output teammates who act fast and own outcomes. Backed by $46.5M from Riverwood Capital, we’re scaling intentionally — and product marketing is central to that growth.

This role is based in our Austin office — and that’s by design. Our space is in the heart of downtown, with sweeping views of the Texas State Capitol, a rooftop deck on the 26th floor, craft coffee, catered lunch every day, and an energizing in-office culture. You’ll be surrounded by peers who move fast, think deeply, and collaborate face-to-face. It’s the perfect setting for a VP who needs proximity to leadership, tight feedback loops, and a team that thrives in person.

We are beloved by our customers, with nearly 250 glowing reviews on G2. We’re the easiest to use in our category, and we hold the highest satisfaction scores as well. That reputation is a goldmine — your job is to amplify it into messaging, campaigns, and positioning that deepen trust and accelerate growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Product Messaging & Positioning: Translate deep product and customer understanding into messaging frameworks that scale across teams and channels. Define our ICP, shape our differentiators, and ensure every touchpoint communicates clarity and authority.
  • Drive Enterprise Reach & Pipeline: Build campaigns that resonate with enterprise IT leaders. Expand our footprint beyond current segments into under-penetrated enterprise markets.
  • Elevate Files.com as a Market Leader: Own technical whitepapers, analyst briefings, competitive battlecards, and thought leadership. Position Files.com as the definitive modern, cloud-native file orchestration platform.
  • Deepen Customer Engagement: Use case storytelling, integration campaigns, and success stories that don’t just win new customers — they expand and retain existing ones.
  • Collaborate at the Highest Level: Work daily in-office alongside the CEO and CRO. Align Product, Sales, and Marketing leadership on messaging that drives growth and consistency.

What Makes This Role Different

Engineer-Led, Marketing-Savvy Culture – Our CEO codes and comes from a B2C marketing background. You’ll never have to explain the value of your discipline.

🚀 Scale What Works, Don’t Fix What’s Broken – Step into a strong foundation: a proven value framework, a refined brand guide, and a million-word sales & marketing content library.

❤️ Beloved by Customers – With the highest satisfaction scores in our category, Files.com customers already validate the story you’ll be telling.

🏛️ Proximity to Power (and the Best Office in Austin) – This is an in-office Austin role. You’ll sit next to the CEO and CRO every day, shaping messaging and strategy at the executive level. And you’ll do it from one of the most enviable office spaces in downtown Austin — with skyline views, a rooftop deck, daily catered meals, and the kind of buzz that remote work can’t replicate.

📚 Customer-First Positioning – Our audience is discerning, technical IT professionals. You’ll speak their language and tell stories that resonate with credibility.

🎯 Career-Defining Seat – A VP role in a profitable, PE-backed SaaS company where your work directly shapes how we go to market.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
