Accounting Services Manager
This position reports directly to the Controller for Bedrock Manufacturing Company, LLC (“BMC”) and will oversee the Finance Shared Service team. Because this position heads a shared service group, there will also be dotted line reporting to the Accounting and FP&A teams which support the Filson and Shinola brands. This position currently supervises between 3 - 4 staff members with expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections. A successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills geared toward finding efficiencies in day-to-day processes in the realm of Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables. A desirable candidate should also have proven experience developing teams of individuals with diverse skill sets. Shinola and Filson are fast paced, growing companies so a candidate who can challenge current practices and make process improvements is essential. Strong communication skills are a must, as is the ability to work well as part of a growing team.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of three or four individuals responsible for AP, AR, and Disbursement Planning for Shinola, Filson, and the parent company, BMC
- Manage the accounts payable function, including routing, coding, and entering vendor invoices into the ERP system (NetSuite)
- When strategically feasible, grow the team in anticipation of larger transactional volumes and increased project loads
- Where possible, implement third party solutions to automate the bill processing and bill-pay process, particularly as it relates to utilities and other recurring, or predictable billings
- Find efficiencies and maximize best practices by leveraging expertise across brands
- Generate weekly vendor payment proposals using check, ACH and wire transfers; balancing the due date of invoices, cash flow restrictions and input from the business operation teams
- Work closely with Operations, ex Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Development, to ensure vendor relationships are maintained
- Ensure timely collections of open receivables and frequent customer balance reconciliations for Wholesale accounts
- Participate and Assist in the monthly close process and annual audits, including reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts and recording journal entries related to the receivables and payables function
- Continuously improve accounting systems, controls, and procedures
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a related field
- 2+ years as a people leader
- Experience with invoice processing systems (ex Bill.com, Concur, NetSuite Bill Capture)
- Preference given to individuals with NetSuite AP and AR management experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Integrity, honesty, and high ethical standards
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- A quick learner and a problem solver
- Degree in accounting or finance is a plus

Salary range:
$90,000 - $120,000 USD
