2026 Special Executions Group – Experienced Associate (NY)

Position: Financial Technology Partners (“FT Partners”) is seeking an Experienced Associate for its Special Executions Group (“SpecialX”).

Firm Overview

FT Partners is a leading boutique investment bank exclusively focused on the Financial Technology sector. Headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York and London, the firm has advised on many of the most significant and high-profile transactions in global FinTech.

FT Partners provides a full suite of strategic advisory services, including M&A advisory, private capital raising, and capital markets advisory. With a 250+ banker global platform, the firm is widely recognized as the dominant advisor in one of the most dynamic and high-growth industry sectors. FT Partners combines senior-level attention, execution excellence, and unmatched sector expertise to deliver superlative outcomes for high-growth and scaled market leaders alike.

Role Description

  • SpecialX is FT Partners’ dedicated financial and strategic execution arm. We work alongside the investment banking teams, but our focus is distinct: ensuring that financial analysis, growth positioning, and investor materials are fully prepared to withstand sophisticated private equity and strategic buyer scrutiny.
  • This is an oversight-heavy, forward-looking role at the center of live transactions. The Associate will help shape how high-growth FinTech companies articulate and defend their growth story to the most sophisticated investors in the market. Rather than simply analyzing performance, this role advises on how growth should be projected, how risks should be framed, and how the financial narrative is constructed to align with how investors underwrite businesses. It requires strong financial judgment, intellectual confidence, and the ability to move seamlessly between detailed execution and strategic advisory.
  • The Associate will work directly with senior bankers and firm leadership, gaining meaningful exposure to transaction strategy and investor positioning at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own critical financial and growth workstreams across live deals, including revenue quality, cohort & retention analysis, unit economics, sales efficiency, and growth validation
  • Advise bankers and management teams on how growth should be modeled, projected, and defended in front of sophisticated investors
  • Identify and frame the key issues that will drive investor scrutiny, surfacing risks and shaping mitigation strategies before diligence begins
  • Operate with visibility across multiple transactions, balancing deep execution on select deals with high-level oversight across broader live activity
  • Set and reinforce high standards of analytical rigor and investor-grade thinking across the team, including mentorship of junior professionals
  • Help strengthen and institutionalize SpecialX as a differentiated strategic capability within FT Partners

General Qualifications

  • Major in finance, accounting, economics, or related field required
  • Advanced degree and / or professional qualifications strongly preferred (e.g., MSc, MBA, CPA, CFA)
  • Minimum of 5 – 8 years of experience in transaction services, financial due diligence (FDD / QoE), or high-growth corporate finance roles strongly preferred
  • SaaS / Tech or FinTech experience strongly preferred (either as sector specialization within consulting or strategic finance roles within industry)
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization required. FT Partners will not sponsor applicants for work visas at application or in the future

Salary: $130,000 per year

Business and Technical Skills

  • Strong grounding in financial diligence, revenue quality analysis, forecasting, and core accounting concepts required
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Communications

  • Ability to build and foster relationships with senior team members, investment bankers, and clients
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority tasks and initiatives
  • Prepares high impact materials
  • Seamlessly leads both internal and external meetings

Team Player

  • Experience with managing, coaching, and leading work of junior team members
  • Able to collaborate across teams and levels, both internally and externally
  • Builds trusted relationships with all team members and senior stakeholders
  • High-level of engagement and commitment to the firm's goals and organizational success

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
