Fine Point Consulting, a boutique Accounting, CFO and HR services firm, is hiring a full-time Tax Manager to join our fun and high energy team. The Tax Manager position is responsible for oversight and management of the tax staff and filing returns on behalf of Fine Point's clients. This includes preparing and reviewing of federal and state tax returns, advising clients on strategies to maintain tax compliance, proactively solving tax problems, and coaching and developing the tax team.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately review and file federal and state tax returns in a timely manner (1120's, 1065's, 990's, and some 1040's).
  • Proactively work with clients to develop tax planning strategies.
  • Work with leadership and tax team members to improve and develop processes for tax department and growth.
  • Coordinate with onboarding and accounting teams to smoothly integrate tax planning across all phases.
  • Complete responses and schedules in preparation for income tax audits.
  • Monitor developments in tax legislation and assist management in preparing action plans as necessary.
  • Educate management and staff on relevant tax issues and changes in legislation.
  • Encourage and develop relationships across tax and accounting functions to best serve our clients.
  • Supervise members of the tax team to ensure that tax returns are completed correctly.
  • Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior customer service.
  • Coach and manage a team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA Licensure
  • 5-7 years experience in private/public accounting working with clients in the $0-$10 million in revenues per year range.
  • 1-2 years experience as direct manager of staff including mentoring and development
  • Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 2016 or later (Word, Excel and Outlook at a minimum, more applications preferred); QuickBooks or other accounting software experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Team player with a positive 'can do' approach.
  • A general and growing knowledge of firm services and technology tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range $120,000 - $145,000 (based on experience) with bonus eligibility
