About the Role:
The Assistant Controller position is responsible for managing the ongoing financial reporting operations of the firm on behalf of Outsourced Accounting clients. This includes the review of periodic financial reports prepared by the Accounting Manager, preparation of budget, KPI and other management reports, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the client's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Assistant Controller also may serve as the primary liaison between the client and the client’s tax preparer and other professional service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Review financial reports prepared by Accounting Managers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clarity.
- Client Advisory: Develop strong, professional relationships with assigned clients, serving as a trusted advisor on financial matters.
- Strategic Planning: Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and the development of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Management Reporting: Prepare and review financial dashboards, critical success factors (CSFs), and other management reports to support informed decision-making.
- Process & Risk Management: Implement and maintain financial controls to mitigate risk and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with the Fine Point Consulting team to support client needs, provide mentorship, and ensure seamless financial operations.

Qualifications:
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA eligibility preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a client-service or outsourced accounting environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort working in a paperless environment.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
- Communication & Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to clients.
- Team-Oriented Approach: A proactive and solutions-driven mindset, with a commitment to collaboration and excellence.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation $60,000 - $80,000/yr (based on experience)
