About the Role:
As Finfare continues to scale, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations. You will play a key role in ensuring our card products and platform scale reliably and efficiently to meet the needs of our growing customer base. In this highly cross-functional role, you’ll partner with product managers, engineers, data teams, and external partners to drive programs that enhance:
- Developer efficiency and velocity
- Platform scalability and reliability
- Engineering and operational excellence
- Incident response and customer impact resolution
- Internal tooling and system quality across environments
We’re seeking a security-focused technical expert with experience implementing fraud prevention measures within digital applications, particularly in card issuance or financial platforms. This role involves designing defenses against identity fraud, bot attacks, and other cyber threats by embedding security protocols such as device fingerprinting, behavioral analytics, CAPTCHA, and real-time anomaly detection. The ideal candidate understands how to balance user experience with robust protection across customer onboarding and transaction workflows. Please note that this is a fully on-site role in Irvine, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional technical programs that deliver on key engineering and product objectives.
- Drive a risk-centric approach to innovating Finfare Financial’s products and infrastructures.
- Develop timelines, define ownership, and drive execution across initiatives tied to Finfare Financial’s card platform, infrastructure, and integrations.
- Partner with engineering leadership to define scalable, reliable systems and support development processes that accelerate velocity without compromising quality.
- Rigorously measure outcomes that drive bottom line impact to Finfare Financial’s success.
- Own and improve program visibility and reporting - ensuring the right metrics are in place to track progress, velocity, estimation accuracy, and incident response performance.
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Business Systems teams to execute regulatory, security, and enterprise customer initiatives.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies and build project frameworks that help teams focus on outcomes.
- Communicate roadmaps, blockers, risks, and wins clearly and proactively to stakeholders across the company.

Physical Demands

Work Environment
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
- Somewhat quiet but can be boisterous at times.

Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of experience in technical program management, technical product ownership, or engineering operations
- Card experience specifically within identity, card processing, issuing platforms, and fraud prevention experience are heavily desired.
- Significant experience and deep industry knowledge about fintech, cards, embedded payments, or financial infrastructure required.
- Proven experience in designing defenses against identity fraud, bot attacks, and other cybersecurity related threats by embedding security protocols such as fingerprinting, behavioral analytics, CAPTCHA, and real-time anomaly detection.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs in a high-growth environment
- Understanding of system architecture, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and DevOps practices
- Ability to translate strategic goals into executable project plans and deliverables
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills—comfortable working with
- leadership, external partners, and engineers alike
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to navigate and resolve complex and/or ambiguous early stage startup challenges.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in B2B cards issuing, card processing, card issuing platform, card vaults, card networks, and/or loyal payment methods strongly desired.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Asana, Confluence, and GitHub.
- Experience building systems or tools that optimize developer workflows or cross- collaboration.
- Background in compliance-heavy environments or regulated financial products.
Compensation:
The compensation for this role is $110k-$130k (depending on experience).
